I traveled to every playoff game on this magical run. We were in so may nailbiter games. Since December 19 it’s been a month full of constant travel and anxiety and we kept coming out on the winning end. Just brutal to come up short after all of it. Still laying in bed. Just soul crushing.

Given the playoff format it seems impossible to go through another 3 game gauntlet to get back to this game. Maybe that’s because we have sucked the past 20 years so it feels improbable that we can do this again? I suppose if Mario really is turning us into a monster then we should make it back the way Alabama and Georgia are always getting to this game in the past.

Just had to type all of this out and vent.

Someone help me get out of bed and convince me we can get back to this game again.

Win the ACC, get the bye (the myth on the bye teams losing is exactly that, a myth. The favorites have overwhelmingly won those games), and you got to go 2-0 to get back to where we were.

Good news is Mario builds his teams from the inside out. And that's how you find success in the CFP.

Woke up feeling pretty empty myself.

One saving grace for me is that this doesn't feel like a cinderella run where we go back to the oblivion. I trust in the framework Mario is trying to build here that will have us competing for years to come.

He has also shown personal growth in his ability to make changes when needed as well as game-day management.

We have the blueprint.

The gauntlet was tough cause we were the last team in. If we take care of business in the ACC and are a higher seed, it won’t be as tough. With that said, a big reason for our success was the play of our offensive and defensive lines. We are losing all Americans at those positions on both sides. Those units will still be solid next year, but for the team to have success again, it will look different. If/when we land Mensah, I would hope we get back to the 2024 offensive style opposed to this year. Toney and Fletcher back is huge. Let’s hope one of the WR transfers end up being good and maybe Jojo finally gets it together. Definitely need to address TE.

The playoff format absolutely makes it more difficult to win a championship. Winning 4 consecutive games against top 10 opponents is a really huge ask. It only takes one off day, one injury (or targeting call) where depth is thin, one high variance freak play (blocked punt) and you go home without the prize.

The path is to win the ACC and get the auto-bid every year. Get in the dance and when the right group is assembled, make a run.

Trust I've been going through it but honestly I think it's mostly because of how long it took to get to a point where #6 was right there. All things considered, Indiana was the better team last night and the only reason there was even a last minute drive was because of two penalties on their end.

Georgia lost to Bama (Tua) a few years ago in a much more devastating way where they controlled the majority of that game only to lose late in spectacular fashion. They ended up winning two titles.

This was a special roster and a special team. One that brought Miami back to the same table as the elite. With that said, it was a roster assembled by Mario with essentially nothing to sell on the field. The U is not back but Miami is elite again and Mario will have the rosters at the level on a consistent basis no doubt about it. I don't know when/if #6 arrives, but there will be more opportunities.

Man, I have been a fan since I was 8. I'm 50 now.... lived in Miami from '80-'90. I've seen the program at its best and its worst.... Been a season ticket holder since 2000. Nothing to be down about. Yeah, it sucks, I get it.... But you woke up today. I'm sure you have a roof over your head, warm clothes, food on the table, etc.... Not to take away from what happened last night... I too keep asking myself what if that punt doesn't get blocked, what if Beck hits Toney with seconds left?? Mario is doing a great job and has the team heading in the right direction. Brush this one off and enjoy the ride. The []__[] never left! Go Canes!!

Im with ya man. I just sat there quietly after it was over. Its been so **** long since theyve made it, to lose at home when they were so close is gut wrenching. Ive had this miami hurricanes national championships banner in my man cave for like 18 yrs and I always looked at it wondering if id ever have the opportunity to stitch another championship year onto it. This year felt like that year

Where art thou @Baba Yaga, can you help out these young men out bed with some classic booty pics?

With talks of a 16 and 24 team playoff this was probably our best chance we'll have

Watching the pregame, watching teams walk into locker rooms from buses, and watching their coach (won't write his name) and Coach Mario, I knew we were going to lose. It really was too good to be true for Miami. Mendoza's revenge, Miami kid wanting to play for Miami and never getting the call. His family's unfortunate situation, everything pointing for an Indiana win and this being the "feel good" story for ages. I am happy for Mendoza and his family, but that is all.

This was not a college national championship, this was a Super Bowl. I think we would have won this game if it had been played in another city. Miami looked nervous and overwhelmed. Players of college teams always say away games are easier than home games. The chaotic atmosphere during pregame with all celebrities, former players, etc.. Didn't see much of this on Indiana's sideline, because they didn't have any football history, until now, that we provided. Their coach was confident and smirky. He knew. When Miami did not score on the first drive, I stopped watching.

Most likely, Miami will never have an opportunity to play on their home turf for a national championship. Miami coaching staff and players, blew their opportunity. Embarrassing to lose on your home field. I will miss these players on this team because they are kids who really wanted to bring make Miami back to greatness. Miami is not back, until Miami wins a national championship. No, I am not going to say "great season." Scores determine great seasons. I ask the question, what has Coach Mario ever won? All the people who hate Miami are overjoyed.......again. I guess we are back in that scenario.

I have already renewed my season tickets for next year, as I have every season since 1992. I am not a "hater" (do the kids still say "hater"?) Have never sold my tickets or parking pass to someone else if I cannot attend a game, I give my tickets to someone who loves Miami Hurricanes and who never gets to attend a game. The feeling after a game like this is absolutely awful. Especially, we had everything set up for us to win, and we didn't.

Woke up furious and still incredibly disappointed because this was there for the taking. For all of the bull**** narratives that IU was one of the greatest college football teams to ever take the field, we lost this game because of self-inflicted wounds. All week, we heard this was going to be a UGA/TCU-like blowout, but it was a few key miscues cost us #6. No other way to slice it, just devastating.

That being said, I don't think this was a flash in the pan. Cristobal has done a tremendous job in both the portal and high school recruiting. It's still hard to believe Toney put up 1,000 yards this year when he should have been a high school senior. Fitzgerald showed a ton of promise too. We're going to lose some good players, but there's still a ton of talent. Something else that is overlooked is player retention. Unless something drastic happens over the next couple of days, Cristobal's track record of retaining players has been strong. In the portal era, that speaks volumes. And even though he's a meathead, Cristobal's vision to build a team from the inside out in the trenches paid off. You could never count this team out based on how he constructed the roster and I doubt his philosophy will change. Get a QB, add some key portal pieces and this team has every chance to play meaningful football in January 2027.
