I’m down bad fellas. Just brutal.

Can be next year or another lifetime 20+ years where we go from 01 and most youngins to parents to grandparents.. Cant waste opportunities by having guys who cant block punt safe. Bauman **** you

Watching the pregame, watching teams walk into locker rooms from buses, and watching their coach (won't write his name) and Coach Mario, I knew we were going to lose. It really was too good to be true for Miami. Mendoza's revenge, Miami kid wanting to play for Miami and never getting the call. His family's unfortunate situation, everything pointing for an Indiana win and this being the "feel good" story for ages. I am happy for Mendoza and his family, but that is all.

This was not a college national championship, this was a Super Bowl. I think we would have won this game if it had been played in another city. Miami looked nervous and overwhelmed. Players of college teams always say away games are easier than home games. The chaotic atmosphere during pregame with all celebrities, former players, etc.. Didn't see much of this on Indiana's sideline, because they didn't have any football history, until now, that we provided. Their coach was confident and smirky. He knew. When Miami did not score on the first drive, I stopped watching.

Most likely, Miami will never have an opportunity to play on their home turf for a national championship. Miami coaching staff and players, blew their opportunity. Embarrassing to lose on your home field. I will miss these players on this team because they are kids who really wanted to bring make Miami back to greatness. Miami is not back, until Miami wins a national championship. No, I am not going to say "great season." Scores determine great seasons. I ask the question, what has Coach Mario ever won? All the people who hate Miami are overjoyed.......again. I guess we are back in that scenario.

I have already renewed my season tickets for next year, as I have every season since 1992. I am not a "hater" (do the kids still say "hater"?) Have never sold my tickets or parking pass to someone else if I cannot attend a game, I give my tickets to someone who loves Miami Hurricanes and who never gets to attend a game. The feeling after a game like this is absolutely awful. Especially, we had everything set up for us to win, and we didn't.
I’d personally prefer that you never attend a Canes game again. You’re a miserable person. Stay away from the program. Thanks

This is why I wanted the title so badly. Whatever happened after we won it with Mario would’ve been gravy. Just wanted one and we were right there at home 🤮🤮🤮

On the bright side Mario is building us in the bama mold so I like our chances.

Think we’ll get there eventually but there will be a few bumpy seasons along the way like Georgia went through between ‘18 and ‘21.

Took Dabo 9 years to win it at Clemson. Took Kirby 6. Harbaugh 9 years. Day took 6 seasons.

Told my boss on Monday that I'd be despondent for a month if we lost last night. She thought I was joking.

I'm broken today. Lost to the weakest team we played in the Playoffs. Unbelievable.
I honestly think it is only going to get worse in the short term as we recap the game. I think we all felt going into the game, even talking to fans at breakfast yesterday, pregame, etc. -- we are the better team, but will we beat ourselves -- and we did. They made 1 key mistake, opened the door for us, we were driving, plenty of time and we went for a shot we didn't need to take and lose the game...

First half was terrible...predictable, bad Miami, not aggressive. Got shut out. + Penalty on nearly every kick return. Offsides on a 3rd and long stop. Low effort on the punt block. Didn't match Cignetti's 4th down aggressiveness or Mendoza's want on the 4th and 5.

To have gotten off the mat after SMU, fought at A&M, then upset OSU, held on against Ole Miss... to lose this by doing the same thing we do when we lost is maddening.

Lots of positives to the season, but you cannot leave #6 slip from your hands and feel good. Nah. I am with you, yet beside myself at the same **** time.

There is not one thing that Mario has done for our program that tells me that we will ever go on a two decade drought ever again. He has grown, perhaps not at the pace that we wanted but he has. This run we had will turn out to be the best education he's had as a head coach. UM is not a one and done program. We have a school that is 100% committed to the football program and one of the best acquirers of talent in the game.

Anyone knows if we won last night we would have prematurely stolen one before we were fully cooking. That’s what actually makes it more painful. That being said, win the ACC and get a bye or home game and our odds skyrocket. I was exhausted by hitting all of these playoff games and all I had to do was travel and sit in the stands. Imagine the toll on the team.

Miami has been incredible in the portal and especially this year's group but my god Bauman and Carter Davis were complete 🗑 in the cfp...would love to forget those two were ever in a miami uniform

I thought we'd overpower them on both lines of scrimmage (which we did, once Dawson pulled his head of out his ****), but that blocked punt, that awful Beck throw and dropping two INTs - too much to overcome.

I keep focusing on the positives: Beat all our rivals, no more "can't win bowl games." Cotton and Fiesta Champs in the same year!

Win the ACC, get the bye (the myth on the bye teams losing is exactly that, a myth. The favorites have overwhelmingly won those games), and you got to go 2-0 to get back to where we were.

Good news is Mario builds his teams from the inside out. And that's how you find success in the CFP.
It’s not a myth at all. Only one team out of 8 has won after a first round bye and they just won the national championship. But they also had a tune up game against a terrible Alabama team.

It is a myth.

The favorites in those bye games have won all but 2-3 of them.

The worst part for me is we won’t be able to watch the team again. I mean what a group of kids playing for each other. We haven’t seen that here in 25 years.
Not to diminish the privilege that it was to watch these kids play but we also were saying very similar things about Cam last season.

Two years back to back we have had the pleasure to watch transcendant play on the field. I trust Mario to continue to find real ballers and develop/nurture their abilities

I am huge on Cantwell and Wingo. Not to mention Hayden Lowe and Charles coming in. People love scroggins and Justin Scott and Blount could take leaps. I expect Lightfoot to progress and I think OJ Xavier and Antoine are gonna be elite if they can stay healthy. Fitz in the secondary, I mean there are a lot of young players that did big things for us this year coming back. For sure there are places we need to shore up or reload but man the foundation is solid and there are kids here that can become legends.

Like Cam, hurricane Bain is probably a once in 10+ yrs sort of talent but who knows what waits in the wings for us. We got some legacies making their way through like Reuben. I love watching the kids from Miami showcase themselves in the orange and green. This year we got Mali and Reuben. Mario is keeping them home, I can’t wait to see who is next.

If that’s the culture here, and a lot of those kids are still here, then why would it just disappear?

I traveled to every playoff game on this magical run. We were in so may nailbiter games. Since December 19 it’s been a month full of constant travel and anxiety and we kept coming out on the winning end. Just brutal to come up short after all of it. Still laying in bed. Just soul crushing.

Given the playoff format it seems impossible to go through another 3 game gauntlet to get back to this game. Maybe that’s because we have sucked the past 20 years so it feels improbable that we can do this again? I suppose if Mario really is turning us into a monster then we should make it back the way Alabama and Georgia are always getting to this game in the past.

Just had to type all of this out and vent.

Someone help me get out of bed and convince me we can get back to this game again.
People thought we blew a major opportunity with missing the 2024 CFP with Cam Ward and an explosive offense. While maybe that’s true, we would have never made the type of run we just made with that 2024 team.

Many thought we’d take a step back in 2025, but Mario’s teams have gotten better and better each year. We knew he was a great recruiter but now he’s a great recruiter with cash and a transfer portal full of players to evaluate. While we don’t always agree with what he does on the field, we can’t deny how well he’s built our roster each year. While many programs see a mass exodus of players, Miami sees very little, if any. Lots of good portal guys are also South Florida natives who have another incentive to come home if money isn’t the only thing that matters. We got things working for us.

From what I’ve read elsewhere, Mensah appears to be coming here from Duke. Dude is better than Beck and has an additional year of eligibility. Not sure if he can play right away since he already transferred from Tulane, but I haven't seen anything stating otherwise.

We’ll reload and fill holes but making the CFP will never be easy. There will be that crap game where we play down to an ACC opponent. Will the fact that the SEC was shutout of the CFP final despite occupying nearly 50% of this years field change how the AP constantly over ranks these teams? Unlikely, but I think one little underlying thing we did on our run was expose the self proclaimed “Big Bad SEC” as fraudulent and there will be plenty of scrutiny if they overtake the CFP in 2026 with their mid-tier programs.

Considering we just went 23 years uhm, most of those lengths arent too shabby if I'm being honest.
