Hurricanes All-Last 10 Years Roster (2015-2025)

I was on Youtube and 2017 Miami vs VT popped up and while I was watching it I found myself wondering who would start on the team now. Then I wondered, if we could assemble the best team of the last 10 years (from a position by position standpoint), what would it look like. Open for debate. One thing that stands out and expected is that much of this team is from recent years as Mario has built the roster into a contender.


OFFENSE

QB – Cam Ward
RB – Mark Walton
WR – Xavier Restrepo
WR – Ahmmon Richards
WR – Malachi Toney
TE- David Njoku
LT – Jalen Rivers
LG – Javion Cohen
C – Zach Carpenter
RG – Anez Cooper
RT – Francis Mauigoa

DEFENSE

EDGE – Rueben Bain
EDGE – Jaelan Phillips
DT – Gerald Willis
DT – RJ McIntosh
LB – Shaq Quarterman
LB – Jermaine Grace
CB – Artie Burns
CB – Keionte Scott

CB - Deon Bush (didn't play corner) -> Corn Elder

Can argue for Rousseau over Phillips. Also Linebacker has been pretty pedestrian for a long time.
 
That title made me think you were trying to make a list of the 10 worst Canes for that period at each positions. "All-last 10 years roster" versus "All-Last-10-years roster". Worst starters over the last 10 years at each position would be hilarious, lol.

Either way, I think Greg Rousseau and Matt Lee probably deserve a place on this list. Charleston Rambo probably deserves some consideration, too. Some other spots I may quibble with depending on if it's best season versus career.
 
Big Walton fan but I’d put Travis Homer or Fletcher above him.

I’d replace Zach Carpenter with Matt Lee.

Also Rj McIntosh with Moten

10 years include the 2016 - 2025 seasons so we have to take out Jermaine Grace, Artie Burns, and Deon Bush (not a CB). Add Malek Young or Tyrique Stevenson.

Stacy Coley was good and I would also argue that it doesn't make sense to have X and Malachi on the same roster. One dark horse I debated was Charleston Rambo honestly. Agree with Greg over Jaelan, but I thought Jaelan was just a bit better.
 
Considering this team just played for the title... I think I'd start with them and say who you'd replace.


Ward of course. I'd be ok swapping out two WRs for Richards and restrepo. Njoku or Arroyo. I'd take Lee at center and put rivers at guard and keep the other three linemen.

People keep underestimating mesidor... I want him on the team, if that means moving Phillips inside that's fine he played there a lot, him and Willis with Bain and mesidor would be my front. Shaq in the middle, I'd swap poyser for Jaquan and keep the rest of the secondary, this is the best we've had since 2001-2003.

It kind of depends what you’re going by. Are we going by most productive? Or best talent? Anyway here’s mine.

Respect but this isn’t completely true. Mesidor got double and triple teamed all the time as well

Final play against A&M he splits a triple team and forces the quick throw INT for example

He was just too fast and good. You could argue he had a better overall season than Bain and I’d listen

I would say that Phillips and GR15 would have done disgusting things in Heathermans defense as well so I agree there

It sucks because if Rousseau didn’t opt out covid year we would’ve gotten to see exactly this and that was a very good offense/team! Definitely a what if (prob don’t beat that Clemson team on the road anyway but hey we have seen how impactful a guy like that can be)

When all four are elite. It’s a good problem to have and a fun discussion. I’d be okay with any combination of the 4, and I’d agree with it

I also think KJ Osborn with Cam Ward would’ve been an AA type WR. Us wasting maybe the most talented WR we had here (until Toney) with Jared Williams and Tate Martell was sad.

Yeh but Jaelan was top 1% athlete. I would’ve LOVED to see him in Corey’s scheme. I won’t so no to Mezzi, think I was one of the truest believers of what he would do. Said he’d have around 10 sacks this year and people laughed in offseason.
