Hurricanes All-Last 10 Years Roster (2015-2025)

When all four are elite. It’s a good problem to have and a fun discussion. I’d be okay with any combination of the 4, and I’d agree with it

I also think KJ Osborn with Cam Ward would’ve been an AA type WR. Us wasting maybe the most talented WR we had here (until Toney) with Jared Williams and Tate Martell was sad.
The tough part with Phillips and GR15 is we have that “what could have been?” aspect

Where 3 and 4 we got to see them just ******* dominate at the highest level

We went through a lot of years where it seemed our guys hit their stride after the made it to the NFL

Groot did have like 15 sacks in his last season here though.

Never forget Jaelen being an All American yet being voted 2nd team ACC in 2020. Jokes write themselves with this trash conference.

But ****, Mezzi and Bain are legends. No doubt about it. All four are some of my fave canes last decade, maybe last two decades with ease

He was a 220lb kid playing DT at times and just purely unblockable

He wasn’t even playing full time IIRC but I bet his pass rush win rate was like 90% 🤣

3 and 4 with the way they played the run are the difference for me

They’re the two best to do it in my memory and they did it together

How TF do you remember all these names?
Pick one:

1. I'm a fan savant
2. I'm a fuggin nerd
3. I have no life
4. I'm brilliant

More honest answer - I've sat through the past 25 years of schidt like the rest of us and I remember names. I'm also a sales guy at heart, and remembering names is key to what I do. There have been several recruiting takes through the years that I thought were just awful. McLaughlin and Haye are two that as soon as I saw their commitments, I was like "ain't no fuggin way these two belong wearing the uniform, let alone hitting the field." Then there are others who I just felt sad about, like Jimmy Murphy. His TD was cute and if he was my brother, I would've been excited for him. He's not. He was a walk-on who didn't belong on the field for us. That's not a shot at him; it's a shot at the HC at the time.

I thought hard about putting KJ in here. he didn't put up crazy stats, but dude was as reliable a WR as you could ask for. I agree that Cam and KJ would have been unstoppable.

QB - Emory DA GAWD
QB2 - Taint Martell
RB1 - Jimmy Murphy
RB2 - Robert Burns (that lateral vision tho)
TE - Jaleel Skinner
WR - Noodles
WR - Mike Redding
WR - Romello Brinson
OT - Zion Nelson (All Decades Team also)
OG - Antonio Tripp
C - Corey Gaynor
OG - Ousman Traore
OT - Michael McLaughlin

DE - Chantz Williams
DT - Allan Haye
DT - Thomas Gore
DE - Cyrus Moss
LB - Tirek Austin-Cave
LB - Ryan Ragone
CB - Te'Cory Couch
CB - Robert Stafford
CB - Jadais Richard

This list is open to interpretation and scrutiny.
Tommy Kennedy needs to be somewhere on this list.

Here’s to Damon and Lightfoot giving us the same memories next year

Facts. Then you have another WR like Rambo who randomly went beast mode at UM but wasn’t a top 5-10 player from an athletic standpoint. Why this is a fun discussion.

Yeh but Jaelan was top 1% athlete. I would’ve LOVED to see him in Corey’s scheme. I won’t so no to Mezzi, think I was one of the truest believers of what he would do. Said he’d have around 10 sacks this year and people laughed in offseason.
Thats a fair point

That’s fair, lol…

But a lot of them guys weren’t even FBS caliber athletes and were on our roster. But I get your point
I felt that way about Tripp too. I just remember he committed early, got no buzz other than being the "ambassador of the class" according to some, and was always sitting back enjoying the recruiting life. Nah bruh. Get in the weight room, film room, recovery room, something! He didn't last long.

I’m gonna play by my own rules and go past 15 years because some of those Golden teams had dogs. Only a couple changes from your list.

OFFENSE

QB – Cam Ward
RB – Duke Johnson
WR – Stacy Coley
WR — Phillip Dorsett
WR – Ahmmon Richards
WR – Malachi Toney
TE- David Njoku
LT – Ereck Flowers (say what you will about his NFL career, he was a dog at UM)
LG – Jalen Rivers
C – Brandon Linder
RG – Anez Cooper
RT – Francis Mauigoa

DEFENSE

EDGE – Rueben Bain
EDGE – Akheem Mesidor / Greg Rousseau
DT – Gerald Willis
DT – RJ McIntosh
LB – Shaq Quarterman
LB – Denzel Perryman
CB – Artie Burns
CB – Keionte Scott
CB – Michael Jackson
CB — Corn Elder
S – Jakobe Thomas
S – Jaquan Johnson

I too thought tecory had a better run here than this list. Rygone too of all people LOL
If you removed Gaynor… Couch probably had more snaps than the rest of them combined or close to it.

At worst he was serviceable a lot of them dudes had no business here. None.
