He’s always a great interview and gave great insight about the defense.

Short summary.
-Very impressed with Manny and the team overall.

-Impressed with the size of the defense overall. Compete with the best of the SEC.

-Mentioned Ford and Hunt as DT’s making a nice move.

-De’s need some work but he expects them to keep working. Mentioned Harvey and Deandre Johnson.

-Lb’s doing well but mentioned Flagg and Huff as players stepping up with steed coming on as of late.

-Loves Ivey!!! Loves his length and notes he’s even making some big plays on the backend. Wants to get his confidence up for the big games. Impressed this TS and Couch as well. Blades not back yet.

-Mentioned Carter as a guy having a very good camp and more of a head hunter(we know) but has improved his tackling. Bubbba a ballhawk on the backend and notes Gurvan is up their with the most athletic DB’s he’s coached and that they’re all having a good spring.

-Very pleased with Avantae and Kinchens and their progress.

-Notes DVD is constantly picking his brain for info.

-Had to adjust himself with terminology etc from his previous stops in comparison to UM.

Problem is Ivey been practicing against the worst starting WRs in the history of UM and to only get roasted by real WRs come game time
Not entirely true. Wiggins gets open pretty well, he just can't catch the **** ball!
Maybe that is why he gets open, defenses daring him to catch, waiting to get burned, and it never comes.
Carry on.

Doesn't matter what the coach says and it doesn't matter that something positive is coming from his assessment of the players. You still have "fans" with their own agendas that will still talk **** about the players and totally ignore positive assessments coming from reputable and proven coaches about said players.

It's still never enough for those who prefer to change the narrative for their own benefit. AND the same clowns CONTINUE bringing up the past or previous years as if there isn't new coaches coaching multiple positions on the team bringing their own individual developmental philosophies.

The players aren't even given a chance to get better from the previous year and develope their game with their new position coaches without "fans" constantly bringing up the previous year. How about we give the young men a chance to get better from the previous season with their new position coaches before we **** on any positive assessments from their coaches.

But none of that matters because the haters will continue to hate just because. Makes you wonder how successful those types are in their personal lives or careers (IF they have one).

agreed.... i think it's just the unrealistic expectation as being a fan.

Our 97/98 defenses were awful. **** Poor. Who was on them? Guys like Ed Reed, Al Blades, Nate Webster, Damien Lewis, Dan Morgan, Leonard Meyers, Mike Rumpy, Chris Campbell. They were young. They were inexperienced. They had a bad DC before Schiano. Guys develop. They need to be put in the right system. But patience and a longview isn't exactly a virtue around here.

I’m not sure I fit any of the choices. I want us to win the Coastal and finish Top 15 with double-digit wins.

The only way to accomplish that is either to go undefeated in the ACC, or if we lose 1 game to UNC (and UNC loses two conference games). If we lose to UNC and then to another ACC team, UNC would have to lose 3 conference games, which seems highly unlikely.
