How would this be overcome? (Speculation on next two weeks)

Knowing our admin
Manny has till the end of this year no matter what
But if he beats FSU they bring him back for another year

Over the next two weeks, we play two relatively solid teams. NC State at home and @Pitt (who just rolled VT).

If Manny were to lose those two games, we'd drop to 2-6 on the season, 4 straight losses, and 8 straight P5 losses.

That would have to be it, right?
Fair assessment. What is likely to happen is that close losses wear the team down and they play really poor against either Pitt or NC State. If we were 4-2 after beating UVA and UNC, then life would have been far too interesting and we would be screwed with another year of Diaz.

He’s already done. We’re not going undefeated to finish 8-4. At best we’re 6-6. No way we beat NCST or Pitt.

He’s not getting fired tomorrow but he won’t survive. Very possible we go 4-8/5-7. Probably only beat FSU, Duke, and maybe Tech.

You would think.

No. Not to this administration. They still think his recruits on offense need to make it to senior year. Also, he has yet to lose to FSU so...there's still hope! The people writing checks have no clue how sports work. They also don't understand that Randy Shannon didn't work here. Why hire Manny?

Manny surviving being fired lol

The decision to fire him seems to have already taken place. And Manny is no fool. I do think they fire him either tomorrow or after NC St or Pitt.

Both games I expect we will lose.

We all want Manny out but what is there to gain by firing him now instead of waiting till the end of the year? Will it help with recruiting or is it just a matter of team morale? Honest question.

These clowns will probably wait until we're officially bowl ineligible IF they're even going to do it during the season.

IF they actually cared one iota about the team they'd absolutely do it before GaTech. Allow an interim to find his feet against them and then have full time to prep for the rivalry game against FSU. Spare these kids the stain of losing to the Noles and hopefully build up some momentum going into next year and the next staff.

Not for the sunshine pumpers on this site who eat up every politically coached word that our fraud of a coach spits out after every loss
The only fraud at this point is that he hasn’t been fired yet and we are still acting like decisions have been made to generate interest

Stadium will be empty next week with zero support for the team live.

The narrative is a message board argument to replace mope vs slurper to generate clicks.

For me, it'd make it harder to beat FSU, which could lead to a number of other consequences. Beyond that, there are advantages to opening up the job "officially" and letting the speculation/vetting run rampant. Yes, there are likely financial ramifications of settling out with him prior to the season, but you have to do the Math on whether those cost more than the potential downsides. This shouldn't be personal. Strictly business.

Starting the search sooner than later could be beneficial. Assuming they do a search this time.
