Check out the past experience from these coaches.

These two coaches raised us from the grave when we were hurting:

Howard - Head Coach, Baltimore Colts ; Offensive Coordinator, Miami Dolphins (perfect season, Super Bowl); Offensive Coordinator, Alabama Crimson Tide (national title). Coached under Bear Bryant and Don Shula.

Butch - Defensive Coordinator, Dallas Cowboys (Super Bowl); Coached under Jimmy Johnson

These three coaches ****ed the program:

Larry "Clappy" Coker - Offensive Coordinator, college. No HC experience. No NFL.

Randy Shannon - Defensive Coordinator, college. No HC experience. No NFL.

Alfredo Golden - Head Coach, MAC. No NFL.

Being cheap is a NEW THING for Miami. DO NOT believe the bs line about us always being cheap and hiring "up and comers," it ain't fact.

Unless you were born yesterday, anyone with a brain can easily see that we only recently started hiring coaches from the clearance section at Target.

We used to hire real coaches with real creds.

DEMAND GREATNESS. It's in the BOT's hands.

TRUTH

There is a lie floating out there that Miami always hires "up and comers" and that Miami has never paid for great coaches.

That lie is being floated by the CURRENT ADMIN and the BOT who are looking for any excuse they can to be CHEAP.

Don't fall for the lies. Don't be a fool.

We weren't even cheap when we hired Al Golden. He obviously wasn't a Saban or Harbaugh level coach but he had been courted by programs like Tennessee and UCLA. The bottom line is that we've made hires based on the assumption that Miami didn't need an elite level coach to win because of "recruiting." That is obviously false.

Fixed it for you.

Butch frikkin's Davis. (Also recruited for JJ)

This. And we weren't cheap when we made Coker the highest paid HC in college football either. UM is much more stupid than it is cheap.

Wasn't Coker the highest paid coach in the nation after his extension? We only became cheap with Shannon and Golden, and like weown stated, Al wasn't necessarily cheap, just not top hire. He was brought in for his APR for the troll Shalala. I'd like to have hope this toxicity and Shalala's removal makes the administration bring in a big hire, but I'm done getting my hopes up with this program. Make the hire, then I'll get excited. Until then, I'll doubt you every second.

How about Urban Meyer, who before signing with Florida was a head coach at Bowling Green and Utah (when they were in the MAC), I'm guessing pre-Florida Urban wouldn't have met your standards and wouldn't have made your well thought out list?

Dennis and Jimmy were great coaches, but they took over when this program was already rolling.

Howard and Butch raised us from the ashes.

What do Howard and Butch have in common? Both come from elite coaching trees in college and the NFL. (Shula, Bear Bryant, Jimmy). Both won Super Bowls before coming to Miami, and both won national titles as coordinators in college.

That's the kind of guy Miami needs to be looking at today.

Hindsight is 20/20. Even a blind man can see that Butch is the perfect no-risk candidate. Why do we need to take a chance on an unknown when we have Butch? Yes, we could wind up with an Urban, but we could also wind up with a Fraulden. This program will NOT survive another Fraulden.

Florida got lucky with Urban Meyer. They had a run of bad coaches before that. Also, what works at Florida won't necessarily work at Miami.

What I know is we have risen from the ashes in the past, and we've used the same formula every time. Howard and Butch's previous experience before taking the Miami job is very very similar.

We know what works AT MIAMI, so it's just to go out and get that guy.

Dennis and Jimmy weren't great coaches. Jimmy came from Ok St with marginal success and Dennis came from Montana St so by your rationale they would be sketchy hires

We're having this discussion because we all know that the BOT can't be trusted to make a good hire. They'll put together another stupid "search committee" and come up with another 300-page binder Fraulden type. If they had a competent AD in charge, one that could tell BS from reality, there would be more fan support, and the intensity level, here, might be different.

First things first, Fraulden needs to be run out of town ASAP.

My only hope is Shalala being gone somehow helps get a real coach in here. It was her infatuation with Al's APR ratings that brought him here unless I am mistaken. So even with Flake James, it may be possible to get a real coach finally, especially with how toxic it is getting. I don't remember it ever being this bad with Randy. I would hope they realize how badly the fanbase just wants a good coach.

This isn't about Dennis or Jimmy. We don't need to take a chance on any hire because we have Butch ready to take the job.

Flake has NO POWER. This will be 100% BOT.

Butch Davis and make Mario the coach in waiting if you are concerned about his age.

Didn't you have Lane Kiffin on your short list?

Look at this braindead ****. Yeah man, Lane Kiffin sucks at coaching football.

That's why Pete Carrol hired him to be his #2 at USC.

That's why the Oakland Raiders hired him as the youngest head coach in NFL history.

That's why he became the youngest coach in NCAA history at Tennessee, and later at USC.

That's why Nick Saban hired him to be his #2 .

Yeah.... Nick Saban, Pete Carrol....Al Davis.... those guys are horrible judges when it comes to evaluating football coaches.

Take a seat, clown.
