How much better will we be physically next year?

I believe we heard how big and strong our guy's had gotten this past off season. We seem to be very well conditioned but not overly physical, hopefully we do grow and get stronger to the level of the teams that pushed us around this year. The guys must realize the teams that pushed around this year will not sit still and wait for us to get stronger, so we have out-work them to catch up.

I can agree with both sides of the argument. It would behoove us to take our medicine now, get it over with, have nothing to worry about in the future.

What is an Assumption?

huh?

You are ASSUMING that if we take a ban now, we're done. This is not true, it could be true so it is an assumption.

These [bans] are done in good faith, they are not definitive in fact (this is why we don't need another self impose thread see the others) and we haven't received the NOA yet. We have no clue what the NCAA is thinking (the fans) so to assume we take another one means "nothing to worry about in the future" is not correct. It could be right but who knows.

oh ok. yeah I definitely am. I can't see us getting more than 2 bowl bans, but thats just because I feel like some of the accusations are bull****.

This sucks because we don't know what the NCAA found. Should we wait for an NOA before we act? I think we should be proactive. If we gave ourselves 2 postseason bans, do you really think they would tack on more?

IMO it would just be schollies, a fine and a time frame after that.

That is what I am saying, we have no information. This is just a stupid question because we have ZERO information. No team has ever self imposed a second ban, no self imposed ban guarantees the NCAA will do XYZ it is just good faith.

I have no idea what the NCAA wants, I don't have a clue. I just think we should wait for our NOA before we are more proactive. That is me. I do no 2013 has no guarantees and since we don't need to do anything this second (self impose) why not play some more games and see how we do, maybe the NCAA will give us an NOA during that time.

I trust Mike Glazier and I trust our administration.

The argument against a 2012 bowl ban because it is an assumption is bunk.

If you don't think Miami is getting at least 2 years from the NCAA... you are delusional.

Foregoing a bowl ban for extra practice and playing in a conference title game (whoop dee doo) is incredibly dumb, considering the potential in 2013, 2014 and possibly beyond for this team to make noise nationally.

Please explain.

You like most Miami fans are delusional, no disrespect. You believe that things will automatically be better next year, while I agree with improvement in the future, there are ZERO GUARANTEES. All we know is we are on the cusp on doing something WE HAVE NEVER CAME CLOSE TO DOING. Let me repeat that, we have not made the ACCCG ever.

For some reason you think playing in a Conference title game is no big deal. You are aware we have NOT MADE IT TO A CONFERENCE GAME SINCE JOINING THE ACC. Listen I am not settling for ACC Champs, I want titles and everything but nothing is guaranteed. Nothing is guaranteed in 2013 or 2014, nothing is guaranteed this year in 2012.

I haven't heard one good argument to self impose a second bowl ban if we could go to the ACCCG, please enlighten me. Please enlighten me why we should self impose more punishment prior to an NOA if we can go to the ACCCG. Please enlighten me why we should be the first school to self impose a second ban. Don't say recruiting either because we don't even have an NOA so its impossible to know what the NCAA holds, also making the ACCCG would be huge for recruiting it would show Al is getting us there.

I don't know what to believe in terms of punishments, I never look at things without facts and we have little here. So stop calling people delusional, you think because the herald or Yahoo! prints something I should believe it. I live in a world of evidentiary matters, while the standard of proof for the NCAA is different than the court room, I tend to stay away from the words of a ponzi-scheme defrauding criminal as the gospel. While I am sure "stuff happened," I have no clue what can and can't be proven because I HAVE NO FACTS.

So please teach me, please let me know why if we

1. Have already self imposed one bowl ban,

2. Haven't received our NOA yet, and

3. Haven't made the ACCCG EVER

We should self impose at this juncture. Please teach me. Cut all the BS, just tell me why. Please teach me, I will admit I am wrong.

We hopefully have quite a few legit impact freshmen coming in next year too, so that will help with depth/conditioning.

This, our depth isn't just going to be JAG's anymore, but legit players that can take somebodies spot if they aren't giving 110%.

The idea that our depth could be filled with playmakers makes me want to fap. Golden really is building something special. I just can't wait for next season. I do see us as a top 15 program next year if recruiting and development continue. And our physicality should be off the charts.

this was a good thread til it turned into a self ban thread **** it.

Its been discussed before but Golden seems to like guys who are more physically ready from the get go. It could be because of the holes on the roster and obviously not everyone will be like that, but I think the staff as a whole has targeted more college ready guys than in previous years.

#44 with one more year of UTough?

G. Terry in a #44 mode?

****!

One guy I'm hoping makes big progress for next year is Isadora. We may not need him to start in 2013, but he's gonna have to get stronger and get some burn so he's ready to start in 2014.

Ivery - this guy looks like he has real potential, **** shame we couldn't redshirt him
Hamilton - this was our best dline recruit last year

Johnson and Kirby have already been through UTough one time, and I'm not sure how much more physical development we can expect out of Eddie Johnson. He's already a monster out there. Kirby does need to fill out his frame.
