How Many Future HOF Does Miami have?

One name nobody has mentioned. Calais Campbell. He has been absolutely dominant the last 3 or so years. If he keeps it up he has a good shot too. Hes been so underrated but people are finally realizing he is a top 10 defensive player in the NFL

Why would the best returner of all time not make it in? Hester will definetly make it, it'll just take awhile.

Ray and Ed are locks.

I see Edgerrin getting in, as well as Andre. Wilfork SHOULD get in. He may be the best nose tackle ever, but he was only all-pro once.

Gore needs to get to 13k.

Crazy that 4 of the NFL's top 40 rushers of all time went to UM and 3 of them were on the same **** team.

If Harbaugh would have stuck around in SF, with the line they had, Gore would have been a lock if he stayed there. I still think he gets in but it's not as cut and dry as some think.

How? he is top 10 in rushing yardage and has only played 10 or 11 years in the league and still has 1-2 more years. Before this season he had 4 straight 1000 yard plus seasons

Geez I never knew any of that. Thanks you so much for posting his stats for me.

A top 10 defensive player in the league doesn't sniff the hall. NFL HOF is a tough propositiob. After Lewis and Reed, I thing Big Vince has the next best chance. WR is tough, there are greats not in the hall.

Steve tasker has to get in before Devin gets in. Everyone else will get there eventually

Dont think Andre, Hester, Jimmy, or Edge make it in. The rest should.

Andre Johnson will get in easily and Hester is the greatest returner in the history of the sport

This, Dre is the first guy in after Reed and Ray. He has the career stats plus was actually considered at the top of his position for an extended period of time. Think it will be tougher for Wayne who has the career stats but never was considered the best at his position for even one season. Hester on the other hand has a slim to none chance.

who the **** is questioning Andre Johnson's candidacy?

That dude is a mortal lock.

Edge and Gore will both get in eventually. The RB position is so bad these days that their numbers will be so much better than anyone other modern day RBs who aren't in.

Edge already made the final 15.

Wayne will get in eventually. He's a lock as well, but he's more the Tim Brown type of lock. Dre will get in before him.

One thing that our guys have going for them is that (outside of Dre who is in anyway) they played in huge games for huge franchises.

Reed and Ray in Baltimore - superbowls and conf champs
Wilfork in NE - sbowls and conf champs
Hester in Chi - sbowl and had a KR in sbowl
Wayne and Edge in Indy - Peyton and Reggie had multiple big games
Gore in SF - sbowl and multiple conf champ gms

Jimmy Graham won't get in because he needed to stay with Brees.
Olsen won't get in either. I guess he has a chance if Carolina has a huge run the next few years with him dominating in playoff moments.

I'm wondering if Portis will ever make the final 15. He has a decent chance to get at least that far.

All of those have a chance. Let's see how the active guys close out their careers.

The common thread is great intangibles and leadership from those guys.

Good post - and it should remind us, all of the discussion on S/S coaches and this other stuff will NEVER be more important than TALENT
- In the past we had HOF caliber guys on BOTH sides of the ball
- Lately----- 4th round draft picks .... maybe

Well no, coaching is just as important as having talent. Amazing Miami fans have yet to learn this.

Dre, Reggie, Edge, Frank, Ray, and Ed All are getting in.

Hester is possible. The Hall of Fame is starting to soften on Special Teams so he has a chance.

IMO the general condition is you have to have been sustained top 2 at your position for your career/era. The secondary condition is you were top 5 at your position for a long time and racked up stats. WR is tricky because they're still calibrating what counts, in terms of both peak and career. And it's so biased by what QB and OC a guy played with. Edge and Gore's RB numbers will likely stand the test of time, so that will help. It's incredible to think that the '01 team had > 30K future NFL rushing yards on it. And over a three year span to include Edge (and others), it's more like 50K.

Wilfork is the most interesting guy, because he really may be the best ever NT. That plus SBs will get him respect. May take time but wouldn't bet against him.

Guys like Olsen, Campbell, these guys are not Canton level, IMO.

Its the 2000 teams that have hofs its when we recruited at a high level, tje newer canes cant even sniff those guys. Those r the recruits we need to get, we recruited a different type of animal in tjose days
