How long do we keep Diaz?

Richt is 55-56 he will be in THE MIA for at least a decade! Manny has a lot to learn about being a coach! Remember
He had a great season in Texas and then I went to ****, Louisiana Tech average and Mississippi average mid table defense.
Give Miami 3 great seasons D.C. And then we can talk about head coach!

Coach kool might be in the NFL soon. Manny, it's to early to tell. Richt will coach at Miami probably 5 seasons total.

Richt should get ultimate credit for the defense. He had the credibility and smarts to bring in Diaz-Kul.
No, the majority of the credit needs to go to El Jefe Diaz...

The Defensive line hasn't been getting sacks & causing pressure the same way they were early on in the year, the most impressive unit on the Defense has been the LB corp lead by 3 True Freshmans.

Considering we lost Young & Grace before the season starts, then lost Gordinier after FAMU, we barely have any depth at LB & Diaz has guys like Mike Smith & Owens playing better than they ever have in their life.

The LB's are used to cause pressure just as much as the DL's & they also have a ton of responsibilities in coverage.

I'm not saying the DL isn't great because they are, but you guys give a little too much credit to Kool, he's never been a DC ever, Diaz has...

The calls that are made on every down of the game for the Defense is made by Diaz on the sideline, he's down there on the field literally reading every play the opposing offense is running & calling the counterpunch right there on the spot.

This entire season, every offense we've faced has had a chess match with Diaz & for the most part he's won...

I'm not saying Kool isn't a good coach or doesn't deserve a ton credit because he does, but among this coaching staff, the one who deserves the most credit more than anyone (Richt included) is El Jefe.

He's also been our best recruiter, and that counts just as much as the on the field performance.

Diaz has been great -- absolutely no doubt -- but without Richt, Diaz is not at Miami.

Easy for you to say. We are in a very precarious position with Richt. His side of the ball has been mostly dog****. So there's that.

He admittedly doesn't have anything to do with the defensive side of the ball. We are in a tough situation. Whenever our defense has great success, we'll have turnover and at the whims of another system/coach.

I said it before the season started with Diaz. He's a mover and I'm sure he'll be on the way out sooner rather than later. Then it'll be a roll of the dice.

I'm just sayin...

All this talk about him moving on to a head coaching job next week is a little premature. Why, cause he fielded a competent defense? That's why I said relax. It's too soon to be talking about that.

I would think he'd need at least 3 good years of production before we need to worry about such a thing. And if he ends up being a good/consistent coordinator that still doesn't mean he'll be an HC.

I understand the concern but I think it's a little premature.

Kool was at Mizzou for like 15 years. I dont think he likes change.

Also his wife is Hispanic maybe even Cuban. Probably loves Miami culture

We all can agree Manny is a big part of success however what's been bigger is the fact we changed what Golden and staff were doing. Let's face it Manny is here for two more years. When he leaves we will replace him with another guy who will attack/blitz and not play that bend don't break bull****

Who knows with the way coaches move nowadays, but I think we have him for at least one more season, and for him to leave after next year he will have to field a really good defense and the team will have to win at least ten games.

fellas he's not leaving to coach Central Michigan or USF. He is here for another two years unless FSU tries to poach him

IMO...

Would he leave for another DL job in college, probably not.

Would he leave for a DC job, probably.

Would he leave for a DL job in the NFL, maybe.

He was fired at halftime by Texas for being so bad.

He's gonna have to replicate this year for a few more seasons to be wanted as head coach anywhere

He comes across as a very restless guy. USF and Central Michigan might not do it for him. But an underperforming Power 5 team like Indiana, Purdue or Illinois might work for him. There might be an AD somewhere willing to take a chance on a young, ambitious coach.
