Like who?Clemson 1st round dl picks are usually BUSTS.

Shaq Lawson, Kevin Dodd. Daquon bowers, Vic Beasley they've had some good ones but no impact players changing the game like you want in a 1st rounder, I think Wilkins is the real deal thoughLike who?
Gettleman and the Giants may disagree. It was a terrible draft for Mayock and Gruden. They're a punchline in NFL front offices today.
Gaines Adams, Shaq Lawson, Vic Beasley ( one great year).Like who?
Bowers wasnt a first round pick and neither was Dodd. Beasley was a pro bowler. I just dont think the statement holds water that the first round D Lineman from Clemson are busts. A, it's a small sample size, 2 it just isnt true.Shaq Lawson, Kevin Dodd. They have had some high 2nd round busts as well: Phillip Merling, Kevin Dodd, Dequan Bowers
Okay, if you like mediocre high draft picks then that's your thing. ToucheClemson D Linemand drafted in the first round are not busts. Just look at the last 6 of them who were drafted in the first round. More than half had good, long careers, 1 died young.
Lol 2 guys current playing in the league. 1 of them went to a pro bowl his second season. Gaines Adams was awful and was their highest defensive selection ever. Trevor pryce and Chester mcglockton were multiple pro bowlers. Then William Perry played 12 seasons. The average career for a first round pick is 9 seasons.Okay, if you like mediocre high draft picks then that's your thing. Touche
You're right I was thinking of bowers as a first rounder because of the hype he was getting being an all American in college, the guys they produced aren't terrible just nobody really sticks out as a household name you can still win with guys like that thoughBowers wasnt a first round pick and neither was Dodd. Beasley was a pro bowler. I just dont think the statement holds water that the first round D Lineman from Clemson are busts. A, it's a small sample size, 2 it just isnt true.
The Ferrell pick shows the Raiders brain trust doesn't understand the draft. It isn't about love; it is about resource maximization.
You think he's a stud, OK. So you want him, OK. But you don't have to take him at #4. In fact, you can probably move down to the early double digits, safely get him with that lower first round pick, and snag, at least, a second round pick in the original trade down.
Guys your naming are from the 80's to 90's. The list I gave you are ALL there first round picks . None have met expectations. Only one had a good year. If you like drafting guys in the top 20 in the draft to give you 5 sacks a season more power to you. That's called not meeting expectations aka BUST. It's not like they're USC QBs or Penn State RBs type busts. The guys produce. It's all about expectations of the picks.
Pass rushers don't need to win every rep. Dominant plays like this change the game.
Pass rushing production tends to translate. A lot of people though Joey Bosa was overrated because he wasn't a freak athlete, but his hand use and technical skill translated to the pros. That's what Ferrell brings.
Spot on. "Overpaying" for what might* end up as a great player doesn't negate the fact that you still overpaid and essentially diminished your overall Draft capital.
I'm not sure why so many people (including Draft/NFL "experts") are so comfortable in ignoring this and are just like "they got the player they love" as if the guy turning out to be a good player will completely negate a team's ineptitude about the actual mechanics of the Draft.
Lol I listed their most recent 6. You listed 3 players and think that's "all"? Essentially people make outlandish claims, then when called out, they realize and begin to pulls straws and nit pick to make their claim not sound so crazy. A pro bowler in his second season is considered an NFL bust, ok. Gaines Adams was a bust but the man never had a chance to make it right. Only played like 2 or 3 seasons. Just trying to be subjective and not make crazy claims about people. It's not even like the majority of the studs on Clemson's recent run have even gone pro yetGuys your naming are from the 80's to 90's. The list I gave you are ALL there first round picks .
