How Good is Notre Shames Running Back Room?

I agree. We could be undefeated going into November and lose all of the November games.

Pitt I can see, VT would be a terrible loss. They are gonna suck something fierce this year.

Granted, it's Miami, so we might just huddle around heaters and totally mail it in if the game is in the 30s, but I expect VT to be very bad this year and Brent Pry is likely fired before we even play them.

I’m gonna be an unhinged psychopath when we play ND so I don’t want to be a hypocrite here but that game in the grand scheme of things might not move the needle a ton

Granted it could also determine a playoff birth based on schedule strength and whatnot but usually it’s “what have you done for me lately” like for us last year

Hang on there buddy

You gotta wait for the posters to tell us about sharp movement as we get closer to the game and how we should feel about our chances
You might be right. I was informed by none other than FSU's quarterback that this game was a certain "W" for FSU, yet Vegas thinks it will be a two score game. We'll see what the sharps do.

I've been telling myself for weeks to not get too high or too low after that game, regardless.

Too high is easy, because I think even the semi-rational humans here understand that there are 11 more games to go and it's incredibly hard to go undefeated.

Too low is easy too, with what we've dealt with for 20 years, but as you said, in the grand scheme of building the program and trying to get to a level where we're competing for natty's year in and year out, finishing the year strong, winning the ACC, making the playoffs and god forbid making a run is what's *most* important. Not that beating ND isn't important, of course it is. But if you told me I had to choose between beating ND and finishing 10-2 and missing the playoff or losing to ND and finishing 10-2 and making the playoff, give me the latter 100 times out of 100.

ND is likely to be the best team we play all season. If we lose a really hard fought game, where we look very good, competent, well-coached, we just come up a little short at the end and ND plays like a national title contender, it's not going to crush me. Well, I'm trying to convince myself by posting **** like this that I'm not going to let it crush me.

Clemson looked like an Optimist team against UGA in Week 1 last year...the game was 34-3 and probably could've been 50-3. Clemson didn't crack 200 yards of offense.

And then they won the ACC and looked pretty good against Texas, and now they're a trendy pick to win the natty. The season isn't Week 1. But how bout we just win it anyway?

There’s an obsession about getting on a soapbox and being objective to prove you’re a better fan than other people

Im not sure yet where the cutoff is timeline wise but it’s soon

It will be unacceptable behavior
I have a connection with both Universities. 100% for the Canes in this one, but going to call it how I see it. Also, I wasn’t the one who started a thread on Notre Dame’s running back room. If I compared the two rooms, on talent they are very close. Slight edge to ND because of Love. In an average game, our RBs will do better because our OL is better than theirs. In this game, I think we’ll have success running, but we’ll be balanced and have success throwing the ball as well.

I’m not sure I understand as written. I think there’s a problem with a lack of objectivity on here amongst a group of UM fans whether they’re MarioBros or just Cane-shaded homers. Conversely, if someone ***** on everything and doesn’t acknowledge legit positives that’s also not objective. Having said that, if legit positives are far and few between then there can objectively be little to praise. That’s not the posters’ fault. Regardless, repeat slurping or moping can be annoying to me even where I agree.
I agree with this overall , but it’s one thing to say that you personally think the ceiling is 8-4 cause you have some concerns and based on how we look the first game you can & will adjust your expectations and/or optimism, that right there is a very sensible take…..it’s Another thing to pop in to every thread no matter the subject just to write 8-4 & nothing else, what’s the point of that ?

We had someone doing 15-0 or whatever it was a few years ago - way more than 8-4 man. I’m not a fan of repeated overkill either way. It’s funny the first 20 times. I don’t want an 8 win season I want us to take the next step up. I think that poster is in the same boat though I don’t need to post it repeatedly. I’m not trying to rain on the parade of people who have a more optimistic outlook. I’m glad people have hope and I hope they’re right.

Yea either way it’s silly af but i guess its just the nature of message boards hence y i dont take stuff too seriously on here lol..as long as we’re on the same side on Saturdays its all good, I wanna see us stomp tf out them punks like we did last time, can’t wait.

When’s the last time we finished a season strong? Thinking Richt’s year with Kaaya and the bowl win against West Virginia I think.

The good news is Beck lit them up.

23/33 278yards 2 TD's 3 rushes for 19 yards

UGA also ran for close to 300 yards against them.

Agreed but that was a year ago. Doesn't have any relevance now.
Many look to previous year/s stats and/or roster to form opinions about the possible results of an upcoming season when in reality, every CFB team will look very different from the previous year/s and makes it very difficult to project success or failure.
