How far are we away

After watching these conference championship games I kept sayin how far are we away from being this competitive.

Clemson with 6th straight and no signs of slowing down.
Ohio state with 5 straight and are recruiting at a ridiculous level.

Alabama continues is historic run.

The more I watch.. the more I realize we are not even close.

These teams have an army of assistants and analysts. The teams are incredibly prepared and to the point where you have to question do they even go to class?

I’m watching D. Smith catch 15 for almost 200 and two TDS. Meanwhile we struggle getting Brevin Jordan the ball 4 times a game.

We need some serious changes to improve to that level of play and that includes Lashlees offense, S&C, etc.

Realistically there’s 3 teams who will be in playoff conversation every year, bama, Clemson and osu. That’s because they have elite recruiting classes, elite coaching and someone elite at QB.

so the formula is simple, recruit slightly better recruiting classes than what we’ve had in recent years and make sure you have someone elite at qb.

No we aren’t there yet obviously but you keep stacking recruiting classes like 2020 and 2021 then we are well on our way

You can recruit like Alabama, but the players have to be coached and developed. This staff is a collection of amateurs and guys who aren’t very good coaches. How many members of this staff would Bama, Clemson and OSU hire? I think UM is a ways away because the players aren’t going to coach themselves.

Jimmy Johnson always looked at his players and with opened mind would see if any of his players would start on the opponents team .

Maybe we can look and see if our coaches would go the same.
