How do you stop Clemson....

I'd start with our Offense scoring points.
Make far fewer mistakes: INTs, fumbles, penalties...
On D, we can't have McCloud giving up long plays to ETN.
Lastly, we have to get healthy and come into the game with all starters available.

Tough to get pressure when they're running screens and quick passes to the flats. We tried to take Etienne away and they got him open in the flats one on one with our backers which is a loss for us. Feel like the best way to beat them is press man and allow the pass rush time to work but I'm not sure we have the horses to make that happen.
I like it and felt that would work but that will leave our backend wide open to deep balls. But I would rather have them throw it deep instead of getting hit with screens and short passes all game. I think he gets the ball out avg 54seconds. That's not enough time for any dline that's why man would work to me.

There is No way that these 2 teams don't have skeletons in the closet. You can't be winning year after year without help from the outside. Football fans are really tired of these teams being on top like this, including myself and most of college football world. They are cheating big time. It's so EASY to figure out. Send in informants

Biggest thing is going to be going against who we are as an aggressive d-line. If you watch those screens against us you will see they release 2 and sometimes 3 olineman to block up field. Our dline ran by them thinking free shot on Lawrence but really just took themselves out of the play and allowed the online to tee up on our lbs and safeties. Obviously letting Lawrence throw with no pressure will eventually get you beat too. It's kinda the reason they are the best, lots of ways to beat you.
Now that play bothered me then anything else. How you think its free hit on Lawrence when the whole oline doesn't move? I mean that's just common sense if the oline doesn't move something is wrong or there is another play behind about to get setup.

So if and when we see them again I think we need to change up how we look on def. I watched there GT GAME AND REWATCHED the game we played with them. It was screen after screen after screen. WITH MULTIPLE screens in one play. How and what def do you use to stop something like that?
I also noticed that we weren't getting any pressure on Lawrence like we should do we call more blitzing packages or do we play more of a 3-4spy look? I would really like to see a cornerback blitz added in as well that way if he decides to not throw it to one screen you have the corner ready to kill him when he turns around to throw back to the next screen.
Cover 1 robber look, assuming you have DBs who can cover 1v1 on their Recs and send heat randomly.
That's your base then you work Cover 3 look in every so often from the same alignment and pre-snap look (both are 1 Hi).
The key is to be just as talented, that's the main thing, you can't outcoach talent sometimes. Offensively is easier in my opinioon.

I don’t understand how a defensive coordinator can keep his job if he lets ETN beat him. You have to take away the run game and in turn ETN in the check down screen game. Do something wild like put your best cover corner at striker and have him follow ETN....whatever you have to do. Get some pressure out of your front 4 and blitz your linebackers not your safeties and corners. Put pressure on the secondary to play man and risk getting beat over the top but make sunshine hold the ball a little and take some hits. If Ladson and Rogers kill you so be it.

Our DC can use a 5-5-4 defense, 14 guys should slow down the Tigers.

They have the #1 pick and a future NFL QB leading them along with a RB who will more than likely also start in the League. We are not beating them this year and unless the game is full of fluke circumstances.

We blocked 3 freaking kicks and still got destroyed !!

Let's talk about beating them next year.

and one got returned for a TD lol

covid is the only way. theyre a machine this year and lawrence isnt even turnover happy as he was to start last season before he settled in and went on a roll to end the year.

You never blitz if you're expecting screens.

If you want to stop duo screen type plays it's best to be in some form of single-high coverage. (Cover-3)

Flawed.
You asked to stop the run game, but you want to put a corner essentially in the box. One of the other ahah
They have a good offense based on mis-direction, so if you have guys who don't have strong eye discipline, which is standard at the college level, it opens things up.

I would not want to get beat over the top, that's a recipe for a disaster, especially for a team that can rush the QB, cause they will and apparently you have not watched Clemson with Lawrence, but that guy can drop it in a bucket from 50 yards on the long ball, that's why the NFL loves him.
Keep everything in front of you, and more plays means more potential for a fumble or pick or incompletion, then they get behind the sticks a little, then you can dictate. Takes your chances and shoot your shot and see what happens.

@Coach Macho I keep seeing what you write and sometimes it's verbatim, one day we'll coach either against each other or with and we'll be in each others head haha
Won't happen I'm in Canada haha

If you played on any kinda team in any sport including corn hole you'd either get slapped & kicked off the team or just told nicely to never show your ***** face in the area of the team again with that weak attitude.
