Hot takes revisited

We've played 3 games. Can we save the victory laps for a little bit?

Nobody is taking victory laps—we're simply satisfied that Miami is passing the sniff test and eyeball test early on year two.

There were a lot of questions regarding TVD, about Dawson and Guidry hitting the ground running, questions about addition by subtraction (Smith, Knighton and others transferring out) as well as how good the new transfers would be for the Canes.

Every one of us watched that abortion of an offense against aTm last year and it set the tone for the season as Miami came out of the bye week flat and laid an egg against MTSU and 2022 was circling the drain by late September.

To see the business approach to Miami (OH)—which looks like a bigger win after they smacked around Cincinnati—as well as methodical and no hangover agains Bethune Cookman ... not to mention pushing an loaded-with-5-Stars SEC team all over the field in between.... people are simply optimistic right now as Miami looks the part and if healthy, the days of 45-3 losses to the likes of FSU won't be in the cards this year.

Won't call for an undefeated season yet. Tough games at North Carolina, home against Clemson and on the road against Florida State—but not nervously sweating those games like we were over the summer.

I’m going to give me list of top 5 hot takes!
5. Bain finishes the season with 12 sacks or more and named a freshman all American

4. Francisco Mauigoa has 4+ Ints and 6+ sacks in the year.

3. Mark Fletcher finishes the year with 10 tuddies and over 600 yards rushing

2. TVD surpasses 3,000 yards passing and has 30+ TD’s passing

And…….

1. Miami wins the ACC
Well I’m on track for 2/5 so far lmao

I stand to cash TF in if #1 comes to pass due to my OCD nature. Every time my betonline account was not on even numbers last hockey season, I'd throw the difference on the Canes to win the ACC.

Only predication I made this off-season was we’d go 8-5 with a mid tier bowel game W..I’ll gladly take the L if we can muster 10+ wins..

Job Interviewer: What's your biggest weakness?

caneholic88: That Im a workaholic.

No I'm talking about Couch. I don't have any issue with Flagg. I've been praising him all year.

My issue is Couch and I thought the Vandy db would take his spot going into the year.

Couch has had his moments as well…I get it, he still gets exposed at times but overall he's made plays too. Interesting to me that the Brown brothers are actually 4 and 5 right now on the corner chart. I think we will see at least one of them or Richards creep up ini snap count as we approach FSU and all their size at WR?

My pre-season hot takes are looking super suspect after 3 games. Still believe #5 and #2 are going to happen:

1. Zion will be All ACC this season (to be fair, this was after @DMoney 's podcast where he said Nelson would be ready to go)
2. Don Chaney gets most snaps this season among RBs
3. Harrell gets the second most WR snaps after Colbie this season, less actual targets but top 2 in yards due to YPC.
4. Chase Smith starts over Bissainthe and Cloyd by end of season
5. We beat FSU
