Honest question...

Richt bungled the entire QB situation starting with Junior Richt as a coach and recruiter, the recruiting approach, the offense he runs and then the way he pulled Perry and went back to Rosier. If he was going to do that, he needed to put Jarren in. For Christ's sake the dude runs the same shiite with no motion. We almost had Pickowski and lucked into Jarren on top of it. Look at this year's QB recruiting ... No one. All the eggs in an Oregon basket.

Just think; we were thhhhhis close to our QB room being Rosier, Perry, Weldon, and Sitkowski b/c of Richt & Richt’s eval. Yiiiiiiiikes

Hoping to get some legit discussion going. It seems like Rick and son really started getting destroyed by us for our offensive failures after Perry took over. Fans are almost exclusively claiming that Perry’s struggles are a result of Rick’s busted offense, lousy play calling, and his son’s incompetence.

Prior to Perry taking over, most fans just talked about how much Malik sucked and how he was killing the offense almost singlehandedly. Malik has played in that same busted offense and failed too.

Why don’t the fans give Malik the same benefit of the doubt that they give Perry? If Rick is killing Perry with his busted offense and play calling, then why does everyone just say Malik sucks and not give him the same explanation for failure that they give Perry?

Perry was a highly ranked recruit and, at a point in time, was the #1 player on our board. We fought to get him back after he decommitted.

In the minds of most fans, Jack Allison would've been our next starter after Kaaya. Malik was an afterthought. Malik had to fight off Evan Shierffs to be Brad Kaaya's backup. Malik and Evan had a combined 0 P5 offers besides Miami. Perry had offers from Tenn, Auburn, UGA, WVU, Louisville, USCe, and VT.

It's the same reason why fans/coaches will keep a first rounder around longer than a late round pick even if there isn't a discernible difference in their production.

Chise; ur better than this.

Perry came out as the # 3 rated dual threat QB behind Tua and Mond. U know who’s the only one stinking it up? That’s right, Perry. Malik is not even supposed to be here. The dude misses wide open players in practice w no pressure. No lie.

He’s a good runner, I’ll give him that. Other than that, Malik misses guys all the **** time.

But our QB room is truly f’d.
Not even sure what this means or how it relates to the topic I brought up. You’re mistaking this for me stumping for Malik or for Rick. I don’t give a fck about either of them.

I’m just wondering why fans almost exclusively blame Rick and son for Perry failing but only blame Malik for Malik failing.

I don’t give a crap about how Malik or Perry we’re rated coming out of HS. It’s not germane to this subject.

Look at Clemson and their QB's as of late...and Taisun was interested in coming here and Richt allowed Junior to ignore him and other kids who are more ready and probably more attainable and keep going to Oregon for an upsider who chose Penn State and look who's going to Clem$on.

Spot on. Not even sure why this is litigated over and over. It's like eating your own vomit again. Move on. Rosier is dogshiiit.

IMO, most of us saw what Kaaya looked like to end the season when he declared.

We assume that was Richt calling the plays, and a decent college QB executing.

The results speak for themselves.

Because Rosier has never looked the way Kaaya did, the logical conclusion is that he’s just not a good enough QB.

Perry is supposed to be a more athletic, better arm talent, lower IQ QB than Kaaya. So, folks are giving him the benefit of the doubt based on his projection. But that lower IQ thing might be too much for him to overcome.
To add on to this, I fear Richt has fallen in love with the idea of what this offense could be “when properly executed”. Kaaya gave us a glimpse of it as he was a kid who had the arm, was a film study buff, but couldn’t move in the pocket because he had cement shoes. Could you imagine our O with Kaaya’s arm and Rosier’s wheels and grit? (yes, I say grit - He beat FSU on the road and stopped the streak).

Enter Rosier, who was the best option after two QBs transferred, and he rode that to a 10-0 start until we sputtered at the end. Richt can easily convince the AD/BoT we’re almost there and he’s bought himself $1M worth of carte blanche with the IPF donation. He’s teflon - hopefully and for the good of the team, his son isn’t because he’s just an empty suit stealing checks

People are prepared to roll with the evil they don't know rather than the one they know too well in rosier. Perry somehow turning it around is the only form of optimism one can have going forward this season. Rosier in this offense just ain't it.

Don't trash players. You can state your displeasure without going over the top.
I have barely been *****ing about the actual playcalling. Most of the time I'm ****ting on Richt its because of the ******* dumbass personnell decisions he makes.

Has Perry been great? **** no. but he's ******* better than ****** *** Malik Rosier.

I can't speak for other posters, but here is my opinion. For starters Malik has certainly regressed. Take a look at Maliks game against Duke in 2015 and take a look against Clemson in 2015. Of his top 20 thrown balls in his entire career here 16 of them were from those 2 games. That is a huge problem that he regressed under Richt. However, that aside, I am ****ed because it is year 3 and we still have a QB who inaccurately floats the ball. A competent HC would have either A. had Kosi ready by now, B. had Jarren ready by now, or C. signed a grad transfer. Richt either sucks at developing QBs or he sucks at evaluating QBs. Those are the only 2 options for why we still have Malik out there in year 3.

Recruiting sites label Malik a player that shouldn't be a QB at Miami. So Richt and his system overachieved with Malik. Recruiting sites label Perry as one of the top QB of his class and should be good no matter what. So Richt is underachieving and his system is trash.

I think the difference is that Kosi allows us to see the weapons that we have. Brevin is all American when Kosi plays. Mike Harley rose from the dead. Cager is a touchdown machine. The problem with rosier is that he slows this offense down and our weapons become 'perimeter' blockers. Kosi is young and inexperienced. He has all the tools. Rosy just isn't a D1 QB.

B/c Malik has had the playbook opened for him and have continuously missed wide open WRs either on the pass or just missing them. Furthermore, Rosier is a 5th yr Sr that’s been in the system for 3 yrs. He had Kaaya to learn behind for 3 yrs, as well.

Perry has been given very little rope. However, let me be clear, it’s a total clusterfock collectively from all parties. But I feel that Perry would thrive w a real o-coordinator. I think LaMar Jackson would struggle w Richt’s **** poor play calling. I don’t think Malik would be good anywhere he went, hence why his P5 offers were 0.
