Hoping to get some legit discussion going. It seems like Rick and son really started getting destroyed by us for our offensive failures after Perry took over. Fans are almost exclusively claiming that Perry’s struggles are a result of Rick’s busted offense, lousy play calling, and his son’s incompetence.

Prior to Perry taking over, most fans just talked about how much Malik sucked and how he was killing the offense almost singlehandedly. Malik has played in that same busted offense and failed too.

Why don’t the fans give Malik the same benefit of the doubt that they give Perry? If Rick is killing Perry with his busted offense and play calling, then why does everyone just say Malik sucks and not give him the same explanation for failure that they give Perry?

Great post
That's essentially my point with most of my posts,

Whenever someone tries to point this out we are made out to be Rosier fans...

Is richt elite? Idk, prob not. But he didn't win 75% of his games playing the 2nd best QB on his team.. something about Perry is off and richt wouldn't lose games on purpose unless Perry was giving him reason to doubt his ability.

I think we'll see Perry, but I feel like Perry must have not prepped enough for UVA and didn't study enough. He trusts Malik more on the road against a good opponent to settle down the offense. Hardly something that is out of line or ridiculous

The Rosier hate on here is ridiculous. He's a 3 star player that has no business ever taking a snap here. He beat out Allison, Perry, scared off kaaya in his senior year, Weldon, sherrifs, and Williams

Out of 7 QB's he's been the best one. Is that his fault? No. We simply need someone to come and take over the reigns

Dude was clutch and led us to 10 wins for the first time in 15 years. Is he gonna nlow a game or two? Probably but he'll also come up huge out of nowhere and I trust him way more than Perry to finish the year out and roll off some wins

I know some fans are okay with losing to develop Perry but that's ridiculous, we're Miami and those same fans would riot the coach when we lost a game. Every game we should win and even if Rosier plays ****** but pulls out the "W" then that's all that matters and I'm with it

I just think it’s both, rosier is absolutely inaccurate on a lot of throws but richt can do a better job in getting him in rhythm

Perry has his struggles but he makes throws we don’t see Malik make.

I think part of the hope with Richt was he was just hamstrung with Rosier, which is actually a legitimate concern. Maybe people were just waiting around?

I dunno. Part of the frustration with putting Perry in and not seeing it through.

Because people believe Perry is/was the savior, and he was Richt’s guy. They see Rosier as a Golden guy. It was always Kaaya’s fault too.

People didn’t want to accept it might be Richt’s system but the guys he had to deal with from the Golden regime.

I can’t give Rosier the benefit of the doubt anymore because he is one of the most inaccurate passer ive ever seen

You’re probably right.

I don’t hate on Malik. I do hate how Richt has handled the two QBs though. Amateur hour.

Good point Chise....Personally...I think the entire situation is a quagmire....Terribly alarming in yr 3....
Terrible coaching, combined with Terrible QBs....

IMO, most of us saw what Kaaya looked like to end the season when he declared.

We assume that was Richt calling the plays, and a decent college QB executing.

The results speak for themselves.

Because Rosier has never looked the way Kaaya did, the logical conclusion is that he’s just not a good enough QB.

Perry is supposed to be a more athletic, better arm talent, lower IQ QB than Kaaya. So, folks are giving him the benefit of the doubt based on his projection. But that lower IQ thing might be too much for him to overcome.

Chise; ur better than this.

Perry came out as the # 3 rated dual threat QB behind Tua and Mond. U know who’s the only one stinking it up? That’s right, Perry. Malik is not even supposed to be here. The dude misses wide open players in practice w no pressure. No lie.

He’s a good runner, I’ll give him that. Other than that, Malik misses guys all the **** time.

But our QB room is truly f’d.

U know what Perry looked trash too in a trash offense....theres alot of factors in play but when your leader in year three cant figire it out.....fans will blame the head guy.

Richt bungled the entire QB situation starting with Junior Richt as a coach and recruiter, the recruiting approach, the offense he runs and then the way he pulled Perry and went back to Rosier. If he was going to do that, he needed to put Jarren in. For Christ's sake the dude runs the same shiite with no motion. We almost had Pickowski and lucked into Jarren on top of it. Look at this year's QB recruiting ... No one. All the eggs in an Oregon basket.

Like I said in a previous post, Kaaya and Rosier would not be here if Richt took over when they were in high school. Richt had limatiations with Kaaya cuz he couldn’t run and Rosier inaccuracy kills me. Perry’s decision making is troubling and Richt doesn’t tolerate that among his off the field crap. I could def see Williams taking over next season.

I blame dad and said son the whole time. Rosier clearly has restricted passing ability but actually fits mark’s offense better because his sperior wheels bail mark out more. Perry can move the pocket and perhaps throw on the run, but as far as real runnig plays he is not even in Steve Walsh class. Mark does not appear to rebember how to pass the ball. That said, Rosier would have won the uva game with his feet. Perry would had needed 5 or6 runs to score that one tb Rosier scored. Infortunately to beat Clemson we need QBs who can pass and a coach who can use him.

They have a very similar completion percentage this year. Yes Perry looks prettier throwing for 50%, but I’m just wondering why two QBs struggling under the same exact coach get treated so incredibly differently.

When Malik fails it’s all his fault; when Perry fails it’s all Rick’s fault.
