Honest Question For The Board…

Curious to know, what was our points per game, yards per game n passing yards per game under Golden vs Mario.
Under Golden and OC Jedd Fisch (2011 and 2012) and James Coley (2013, 2014 and 2015) the numbers were as follows:

2011: 24.8 PPG
Jacory Harris 2485 Yds 20 TD’s

2012: 30.8 PPG
Stephen Morris 3345 Yds 21 TD’s

2013: 30.3 PPG
Stephen Morris 3028 Yds 21 TD’s

2014: 28.3 PPG
Brad Kaaya 3198 YDS 26 TD’s

2015: 26.3 PPG
Brad Kaaya 3238 Yds 16 TD’s

Both Brad Kaaya and Stephen Morris missed significant time with injuries Kaaya in 2015, and Morris in 2013, while also playing several games on a badly sprained ankle.

I thought that under Fisch, our last defense had the potential to be really good, but disappeared in big games at times. But overall, our O was pretty good.

Under Coley, we were very average, but still way better than what we’ve seen this season from Gattis and Mario’s atrocity of an offense.

Our OL was much better during those years, and we also had the great Lamar Miller and Duke Johnson at RB during those years, as well as Mike James. All wound up being NFL RB’s.

At WR during the Golden years we had NFL WR’s Benjamin, Hearns, Dorsett, Stacy Coley, and also Tommy Streeter. We also had FR Brenton Berrios in 2015, who would also wind up in the NFL.

At TE during those years we had future NFL players Clive Waldorf and David Njoku.

So o would say that the offensive scheme, playing calling, coaching and the talent level were all much better during those years than what we’ve seen this season.

What has killed us this season is the atrocious offense, in my opinion.

At times the D has also been hot garbage, but they’ve looked much better overall than the O.

gattis' offense at michigan was way more efficient than what we're seeing. **** he won the broyles award and that is a big deal, regardless of what people may say. Nobody saw this collapse from gattis i'm sure, mario included. he'll be let go in the offseason and we'll move on from there. doing it midseason doesn't benefit the team at all. we'll have to hope that we win because of the bro's and not the x's and o's the rest of the season
The Broyles Award is a Big deal??...Why??....Shannon won it for God's sake. It's about as meaningless as the Heisman.

Why do people think that because the UVA gsme Mario wants 3 yards and a cloud of dust?

We threw it 144 times over a 3 game period with TVD. Mario already adapted during the season.

We ran it this game because they don’t trust Garcia not to turn the ball over. Would you?

Garcia doesn’t even trust himself. He should have tossed that ball to Brantley at end of game instead of running.

…how can Mario see the incredibly efficient and high-powered offenses at TN, Baga, Taint, USC, etc., and still prefer to run the plodding offense that he’s preferred over his career as a HC?

…and to those that say that he has no choice because of injuries. He was running the same bullshyt offense even before all of the injuries. Gattis might be the play caller, but he’s running Mario’s preferred scheme.
Mario will become the worst hire Miami ever made!

Not really. I pointed out multiple times during the off season that of his three offenses at Michigan, only one was any good and it literally took having the nation’s best offensive line for it to work. People got way too hyped up by his one year and his Broyles award that they ignored some very obvious issues. My desperate hope was that his offense was tailored around the talent at Michigan and that once he got here and realized that our offensive line is nowhere near that good, he’d make some significant changes. That went out the window as soon as the season started. His biggest issue is that when he hits a speed bump, he falls right back to his bread and butter run game. It’s like he panics if a pass play fails and just grabs his security blanket and calls 12 straight run plays. Even on a third and long. It happened in week two against Southern Miss but because we were able to push their defense around, it worked out. He went right back to it against Middle Tennessee but they were prepared. They dared him to call pass plays but he got so scared he ran the ball over and over into a stacked box. Which is exactly what he did against Rutgers last year with Michigan. The Wolverines won a super low scoring game but Gattis called like 44 run plays when they were averaging under 3 yards per carry.

It’s mid-season. Let it go this year and wait for next season. Still playing to get bowl eligible they gone run what they have been practicing on offense and that’s just the way it is imo

The ceiling for this offense is Michigan. Sure they win but the moment they get into a fight with a team as skillful as them it’s a toss up. Can be like their game against OSU last year or like the one against UGA. It’s not exciting and requires a strong D to hold it down so you’re never out of it or pressured to change mid game.
Gattis fans love that Ohio State game. It was also played in a blizzard. Not too many of those types of games in Miami.

Why Harbaugh got rid of him.

He will need to adapt or die. Simple as that. Game has changed and with the concerns over CTE, it’s going in the same direction. Soon the game will be closer to 7v7 than the old smash mouth football of old. Those are just the facts.
