With my madden GM skills, I would have him gain 10 pounds. 31 inch arms and 10 inch hands. dude just needs to add a little weight before he would be able to contribute as a one-cut. Like the writer says, he simply leaves too many yards on the field due to vision and little wiggle to contribute in the NFL as a 3rd down back. Luckily, those can be corrected. I'm predicting the weight gain and a viable option as a 3 down contributor in time.

You don’t stop improving when you’re 21 years old. In fact you haven’t even reached your peak at that age. Homer is a hard worker, and he will continue to improve.

Sometimes observers seem to view people statically. In other words, a picture of them as they are or were, not as they could be. Especially with someone as singularly focused and hard working as he is, one has to take into account the likelihood of continued improvement.

He is a solid draft choice. I’m not a draft expert, but I’m thinking somewhere in the 3rd to 5th round. I don’t see him going any later than that. We shall see.

Don’t be surprised if he’s a solid back for several years, barring injury.

Excellent numbers. With better vision, he could be an elite NFL back. Unfortunately that's not an easy thing to improve on at 21 y.o.

my only concern with homer is he runs so hard.

I'm pretty sure he purposely lost some pounds a bit before the combine to try to increase flexibility and athleticism. He was much bigger during the season and easily will put on those 10 to 15 lb back

I'm a huge fan of Homer - but I don't see him going before the 4th round. His combine numbers were awesome, but the size and wiggle concerns are real.

I like the Austin Ekeler comparison. An athletic RB2 that contributes, but isn't built to handle the workload of a starter.

Homer is a solid 3rd round pick. Why 3rd round? He is actually the identical height and weight of Mark Walton last year, who was chosen with the 12th pick of the 4th round. Only Homer doesn't have the injury history of Walton and ran a 4.48 40 compared to Walton's 4.60 a year ago. He put up just one less rep on the bench but had significantly better jumps. He's an overall better athlete than Walton was. There is really no reason that Homer lasts until the 4th round, let alone the 5th.

Best of luck to Homer in the NFL draft. Thinking he’ll go late in the 3rd round and should be able to make a nice living out of what he’s good at, especially on ST’s.

Can some of his "vision" problems come from an oline that couldnt blow away savannah state? Or from terrible designed/predictable running plays, that were the only option because the qb couldnt complete a forward pass, and the playbook only had 1 page.

Homer tested well in high school so no surprise.

West Palm Beach (Fla.) Oxbridge Academy running back Travis Homer had the top SPARQ score on the day after recording a 4.55-second forty, 4.03-second short shuttle, 37-inch vertical jump and a 40-foot power ball toss at 5-foot-10, 195-pounds. On top of the elite combine numbers, Homer was the best running back in pass protection drills.

I would love for him to wind up at San Francisco. Perfect system.

He is also the youngest RB in the draft.
