Highsmith to the U?

Do people not think before they ink?*

Just silly sequence of posts. He must be here on CIS.

*rhetorical question
How about you go look at the entire thread instead of the screen shot. Someone asked him about AD. And said Zo is football operations

Having people in the athletic department who are pro football is a good thing. That's mainly why I wouldn't necessarily mind having Hightower if the new AD is good with it -- and even then, I think it's dangerous because he's basically not fireable. But let's not act like he's bringing some secret sauce because he worked in the NFL.

If Highsmith didnt play for UM how excited would people really be about this? If he is hired, I wish him the best and hope he is successful but outside his connection to Miami I am not really sure about the buzz.

With all the underclassmen who have turned pro and been drafted in the 7th round, I truly believe that many would be excited by the hiring of a 20-year NFL professional with a background in scouting and personnel evaluation, regardless of what his diploma says.

All these dud brains who look at screen shots with those 2 tweets from Canesville. 1 if you follow the thread you will see he said Zo is football operations. Then someone asked about AD, which he then says Zurich is in the mix. But some of you are so lazy when u could easily click on the thread, but u rather stay our posting crap

There is always that.

Zo knows the pros and he has been around all the major programs.

What if came in saying the reason we miss so much in recruiting and don’t develop promising recruits is we have our coaches spread too thin? For all we know, he is beating the drum for a bigger team of scouts, analysts, and player assistants.

You got a seasoned football guy telling them everything we are behind in. Then Mario is telling them he will only consider coming if he gets the SAME things Zo was already telling them.

With clearly defined roles and hierarchy, these guys don’t have to step on each other’s toes. If Zo does it right, he could eventually get the ad job anyway (if that is what he wants. May NOT be the case). No need to be overly ambitious.

This is the exact scenario I'm hoping for.

Tom Jurich is the perfect hire but he's no spring chicken. He's a 3 - 5 year hire, tops. Bring him in with someone like an Alonzo Highsmith as an Assistant AD to provide immediate support for football and to train under Jurich for next 3+ years so he'll be better prepared to take the reins when the time comes for Jurich to ride off into the sunset.
You're being to logical. That's not the CSI way. You got to over react and be simple.

I don’t know why the U would spend any amount of money on a search commitee of any kind…just look at how many experts on how the chain of command has to work, who are the only people qualified and why this type of system will or won’t work are right here on CIS.

All Frenk and his buddies had to do was tune into CIS and the hiring of a HC,AD and an associate AD would have all been taken care of for them…the university continues to waste time and money as usual..😜

Pat was my boy back in the day...used to kick it with him on the regular....If people think Kiffin slays alot of Honeys...they'd be floored on the Babes Pat had at UM....and all were 10s...I'm talking ridiculously Fine...
Have you heard the "weatherman" story from his time in Philly?

There has to be a head. You can't have someone running something and their nominal boss having less power than they do.

Now, could I see Zo being the Asst AD with a tacit agreement that Jurich grooms him to be the AD down the line? Yes and that would be a solid arrangement. However, Zo may not want to wait his turn and may want to be THE MAN. There is also the power dynamic of Zo being a former player and probably untouchable if hired. What happens if Jurich and Zo disagree on the direction of the program? Who wins that battle? Jurich is an outsider..
Make. It. Stop.

Also someone involved in personnel in a world of the transfer portal added on top of recruiting
