If American Football players decided to play Rugby right now we would BUTT**** the planets Rugby teams. It would be America vs America.

Top level soccer players are not the best athletes on the planet. Stop it. Id put anyone on the Tour De France in that category (including drugs), endurance racers etc etc. The hyperbole is a bit much here.

Brazilians play:

Soccer
Beach Volleyball
Jiujitsu

And? What other national sport?

The only sport that really applies too is soccer. That robotic mentality does not work for the Chinese that is why whenever they play a major sport they look like an AI version of humanity.

Brazilians are also great at bull riding. You can’t get those guys off a bull. I don’t watch much bull riding but when I do….. Brazilians win.

This is actually skewed. Brazilians tend to draw the lesser ranked bulls to have consistent scores. Whereas JB Mauney goes big or goes home which is why he was the only one at one point to ride Bushwacker, the #1 ranked bull in the world at the time and holds the longest streak of being #1

I will defer to you on this subject. You have educated me on this for sure. Every now and then I watch bull riding but not nearly enough.

Bro I said FOR US.

We don’t have an on campus stadium. We don’t have a huge alumni base for connections after graduation. We don’t drop huge bags.

Our strengths are different and winning is the thing that equalizes our strengths with other schools. Without it, we are at a big disadvantage on the trail.

Mullen’s a weird dude who doesn’t prioritize recruiting and didn’t really hire coaches to sell for him.

If Mario gets here and starts pumping out 7 win seasons, recruits will tune him out. He will have the benefit of the doubt for a few years, but he shouldn’t waste it.

Mario can sell, but you can only sell a crap product for so long before people stop buying.

The real problem is that Epstein (and others) do not see it as "actively sabotaging the program". They see it as "trying to do the right thing by Miami". I'm NOT justifying it, I'm explaining why he doesn't have the perspective to realize that what he is doing is going to cause real damage.

(hopefully, that gets the thread back on track)

I’d we keep Diaz… I’m sorry that’s lazy, that’s politics and to me it signals that connections are more important than success. Diaz is in year 3 and what he has going for him is that the team doesn’t give up. If this is your standard and you take this as progress you’re showing me it’s not about the actual improvement and bringing the program back to the top.

If you want that, hire an alpha male AD and let him hire a HC for football, basketball and baseball if needed. I’m a die hard hurricanes fan, but if they hire Zo as AD and keep Manny this shows me they do not care to be a serious program.

He is ONE BOT member .. and he has NO operations responsibility or authority. Frenk fired Blake and he did so without consulting the BOT .. he doesn't need BOT approvals to make operational decisions. Will be interesting to see how the AD search / hire goes. There are factions within the BOT pushing in different directions .. but at the end of the day Julio Frenk is THE ONE with the hiring authority .. and he will most likely hire whoever is recommended by Echevarria and Hernandez.
