He landed the 5-star #2 QB and #10 overall player in the country last year. And has a 4-star QB committed for this class.

There is only one perfect candidate out there and that’s Saban. Two near perfect are Dabo and Day. All others have question marks

Mario is a great recruiter who will crush it down here, he knows the lay of the land, he is clean aka good guy no personal baggage, gameday decisions can be questionable and will need 2 strong Coordinators with him but overall this is the perfect candidate for us.
 
Better hope mario doesn't **** the bed if he is hired good luck trying to get rid of him if he is related to someone involved in the decisions

As you know I’m not anti Lane, we’ve actually had back in forths where I defended him. I’m just being honest , I don’t see how one rips Mario but slurps Lane.

i see this the same way. mario is going to be more of a lifer here. if he will come we should be happy with him.

In theory yeah, but it’s not even close.

Every west coast kid, let alone SoCal kid, dream schools is USC. That includes kids from Arizona, Las Vegas, Washington, Utah. They have a stronghold of the west coast. USC is one school that if they win they could have a lower level HC as a recruiter and still pop off 5 stars. Clay Helton had the #6 class last year with Korey Foreman.

There was a certain coach in this town that used to say repeatedly “I am not going to be the Alabama Head Coach.”

We all know how that ended. Why, because the powers that be wanted it that way and they did what they had to do.

What’s happening here is par for the course, except this one happens to be Alumni in Mario. But the same steps are being taken as in any other school when they want their guy.

FWIW, I don't even dislike Mario but if money is no issue there is no universe where he should be the #1 candidate.

Now they are worried when we had the same problem?

Which is exactly why they need to take several seats and let the competent people handle things going forward
