No you’re counting it and I’m not. You continue to somehow forget the circumstances of that “2nd title” consistently in posts referencing those accomplishments.

Frankly it’s moving the goalpost nonsense to say “whose your candidate” when the deck is stacked so in favor of one guy. If this was actually an evaluation of potential candidates that would be a fair discussion. What it is is rich guys putting their buddy over and people just getting in line because he played at the school.

This search reminds me of 2015. Stu Miller (billionaire chairman of Lennar) was so disgusted by the Clemson massacre that he took control of the operation and demanded a proven, P5 head coach. They ended up paying big for Richt. The timing of that was off, but they were focused on the right things and our results were the best in 15 years. I think this search will be similar with a rising (instead of a fading) candidate.

As an aside, the reporting on this one has been unusually accurate. Mike Ryan Ruiz is a friend and I know he is providing legit info. I don't know David Lake but his source is accurate as well. We know what the plan is. Now it's just about executing.

Wow! That’s a lot of connections pointing at Mario’s direction. I would caution however, that you should never hire someone that you can’t fire. This applies here. If Mario is struggling… would they move to fire him, or would they vote to keep him too long? This is why I want Jurich as AD. Jurich seems to be the guy that can weather a storm and make the tough decisions. If Tony gets the AD gig…. IDK man. IDK if he can make those tough decisions. We haven’t seen it, yet. I always go with experience.

Clearly not the point. I understand how valuable the money is to the program. Just because they’re rich doesn’t mean they won’t stay loyal to their connects to a fault. I just hope they can separate business and connection

All of the above is why I personally prefer Lane at the moment. I also don't like how many connections everyone has to Mario. It feels like a Miami bro reunion that can get ugly for us the fans if it fails because everyone is buddy buddy with one another.

I typically prefer us to avoid the Miami bros for that reason. Give me Jurich and Lane. I'll be very happy. Jurich and Mario will still please me, but not as much.

I agree with you on the first point actually.
The second part of your point I will say two things.
1. If he can consistently land too 8-10 classes I think that is a strength in itself although not in scheme.
2. I think his O Line strength is important to have especially in south Florida where they do not grow on trees.
But I do agree with you that the benefit of a near automatic 40 point per game HC like lane who does not need to bank on a OC hire is a massive weapon to have.

FWIW, I don't even dislike Mario but if money is no issue there is no universe where he should be the #1 candidate.
