Here's what I know

Mario has a lot more talent on his roster (according to the rankings) which I give him credit for since he is a great recruiter. His teams, however, underperform. Lane gets more out of the talent on his roster. I would be OK with Mario if he brings in the right OC.
While I agree generally we are talking about a pretty small sample size. I think generally if you get a HC that can recruit like Mario you take those odds, win the coastal every year and run into a CFP.

He developed Corral into what he is today. Oh and Lane is on pace to go 10-2 in the toughest division in the sport in his second year. If you think Lane with Mario’s talent advantage would be in 4th quarter games with Cal, Washington and Arizona you’re out of it.
Also, Ole Miss has never won 10 games in a regular season in their history. So if Lane beats MSU he literally would have done something historical in the "mighty" SEC.

Sometimes people with the most money shouldn't be making the decisions, however they do because they have the most money. It's pretty apparent in the professional sports world. People with money need to find highly intelligent people in the field they are trying to make the decisions in. What people with money need to do is write checks.........

That said. All of this is pretty exciting. Can't wait to see what happens.

If the powers that be want to employ Alonzo, just straight out offer him the AD job. Jurich, or any other self-respecting candidate should surely balk at anyone "carving" football out of their purview. Unless they just want to be a neutered figu

So is this university going to be by the balls by the Columbus mafia no matter the results on the field? A strong AD wouldn’t put up with that. Worries me.
A strong AD is going to be hired and paid by the Columbus crew

Give me Lane all day over Mario. Mario just isn’t it. Seems like **** of a recruiter but is never going to get Miami out of the dump and winning NCs again. He made Justin Herbert look mediocre two years ago. That isn’t happening with Lane. Lane takes TVD to the next level and he’s also a great recruiter. Just needs to hire a good DC which I’m sure he could at Miami. ***** this nepotism bull**** with Mario and all his Cuban buddies/family members.

It should be him but theres a lot of votes, and some of those people are scared of the unknown , change / risk and even worse don’t care about football. Hopefully the Herbie colonoscopy is still lingering in the back of their minds.
You and other people have said the right people are angry with a lot of what happened this year. I hope those taking charge of this new movement have closed on Jurich. Additionally, they have interviewed other good candidates so those actions tell me we are pretty serious about fixing this ****.

And Mario was missing Thibideoux and Flowe and still beat Ohio state at the shoe. He has been without Flowe all year. And his OC was rushed to the hospital right before the Stanford game.
I was not trying to sht on Lane. Great coaches still lose games. I’d love it if we get either. I lean towards Mario bc i feel he has a better chance of staying here long term if he is successful but would be thrilled to get either.
Obviously losing your OC right before game time is a big issue, but I think that’s the problem with a CEO coach like Mario. As Ridler had started a thread about, Mario has nothing schematically to hang his hat on despite the fact he’s been an offensive coach his entire careee

With $4 billion of net worth willing to invest tens of millions of new dollars into the program per year. Shame on them. Good lord, let's stay the course pitching pennies. It has served us well for 20 years.
