Here's what I know

Go ask Bama people why Saban finally just said “ F it “ with Lane , even though there was a championship season still on the line. This dude has a lot of baggage. But there’s a chance he could hit it big for the first time in his life.

People don’t know the results of the vote. Most folks assume it’s one guy because of the people backing him.
Got it. Thanks for the input. I thought people mean it was a done deal and the person had been hired. Interesting.

AND Lashlee has the OC, which to me is significantly more important than the attention it is getting. There's no way in heck that as well as Oregon has recruited the past 4 years that there's not a better passing QB than ABrown on that roster. This leads me to believe that the failures of the Oregon QB room falls on either Mario or his OC/QB coach JM.

Give us Mario but please please please let Mario convince/offer Lashlee the prospect of staying to continue TVDs ascension. Simply put, look at it this way: Take it back to the pre 2001 season, where the kids wanted Coker to not have to adjust etc.....well let's view this the same way but from the OC/QB coach perspective. Mario is the head man and brings his calvary with him, but keeps Lashlee/TVD connection going so the one elite thing our team does has continuity.

And when you consider prior reports posted of Mario's interest in working with Lashlee, coupled with Oregon's offensive woes, it would seem to me that this would be a no-brainer. Here's to hoping that it happens this way.

I have no idea if Lashlee or UM is interested in that kind of scenario where he stays on

I do know this -- TVD is the type of player that can make coaching careers/opportunities for their coordinators

There is only one perfect candidate out there and that’s Saban. Two near perfect are Dabo and Day. All others have question marks

Mario is a great recruiter who will crush it down here, he knows the lay of the land, he is clean aka good guy no personal baggage, gameday decisions can be questionable and will need 2 strong Coordinators with him but overall this is the perfect candidate for us.
I wouldn't say perfect. The issues in the past have not been recruiting it's been coaching and developing the talent we have. I think we need more of an X's and O's coach than a recruiter. We've been able to pull some very good classes on paper even when we weren't winning big. If we can find a coach that was both then that's even greater. I'm very hesitant to hire a coach that needs not one but two good coordinators in order to win.

That’s at Usc , his reputation is he‘s not crazy about hitting the pavement recruiting. It’s common knowledge around cfb.
So Mullen 2.0, but instead of the swapping spit with players wife, he’s swapping coeds

Wasn't he smashing his daughter? Lol

IMO, TVD is so good that even if Mario (or any HC) is offensively conservative, there will be real results and production. Is Lane + TVD more exciting, yeah, but I still lean Mario overall.
Ya think so? I will just say this: A "conservative" play-calling Lashlee had TVD looking like a JAG.....before reports surfaced and were confirmed by our very own CMR during the halftime of the, I believe the GT game.....that Lashlee took the training wheels off and threw it all at TVD because they had nothing to lose with the season spiraling out of control. Conservative play-calling severely held TVD back and will do the same thing if Mario comes to town being conservative.

Winning at Oregon is cool but winning at Miami is magical and gets national attention (especially when your from Miami and played here)

That is what has to draw Mario here, especially if we check all the $$$ and resource boxes

No way he turns that down

Ive said this before, but every time I wear my Miami sweatsuit while traveling (the last ones they made in 2014, which makes me look so **** **** if I do say so myself, ahem)... I always get comments about 'the U' and honestly, it's always a real positive comment. Miami has never understood the power of their own brand and what took place in the supposedly notorious past

I guarantee you that many other programs like Clemson, which has been a monster the past 6 years, dont provoke that type of attention nationally

Would LOVE Mario OR Lane. This is a good problem to have. I'll be happy with either choice, but I can see why some people are siding with one or the other.

So he developed a qb recruit like he has done in the past. And what school won't struggle on the road without their starting QB?
A lot would. But it is an example of him not being able to scheme up points without Corral. He is a great coach and a great option. I’d be happy with him or cristibal.

All I hear is a lot of nepotism

This x 1000. We have a bunch of guys in charge or having a large say in the process that are pushing all in on Mario and they all have connections to or are buddies with Mario. This is exactly how we've gotten in trouble with past hires. Mario is undoubtedly better than Manny, but that shouldn't be the criteria for the hire. The question these guys should be asking is which hire is THE BEST. Have any of these people stopped and taken the time to do a full evaluation of other candidates besides Mario to determine who is the best hire? I doubt it.

I'll tell you right now how this is going to go if we hire this dude. We'll go 9-3 or 10-2 each year. Drop some games we shouldn't. Squeek out others against middling acc teams. And it will all be done with a boring brand of football. It'll be better than what we have now, but how long will the natives put up with that before they get restless?

Absolutely! There are tons of examples, but the one that immediately comes to mind it Dabo. He kept finding one stud, "Program Altering" QB after another and with the other good work he did on the rest of the team and staff, lifted them to the lofty place they've been up to this season.

Yet another reason why we need to hope against hope that Garcia sticks with us when TVD (most likely) goes to the league after this coming season. If we could have two stud QB's in a row, playing in offenses that leverage their abilities, we can absolute do what Clemson did in rising and staying in the elite (again, this season withstanding).

I really don't agree that Kiffin is all flash, no substance.

He's a **** of a HC. Maybe he's not the right fit here and maybe he's not a long-term solution, but the dude can flat out coach.

“Not the right fit, not a long -term solution” is why Mario is the better option. Longevity. People act as if he going to stay at the same level. He can and will get better as his career progresses.
