Stats are in for multi-year closing percentages on OV weekends. As it pertains to Matthews, Mario has most of his elite 5* recruits in on primarily the first OV weekend with some on the second weekend.

The OP stats now reveal:

  • The closing percentage is roughly the same for all OV weeks
  • Mario has most 5* recruits either the first or second weeks
  • The premiere recruits typically visit the first or second weeks
  • Mario typically closes on 30-35% of all OVs.

Matthews says he's not worried about Cantwell. No concerns playing LT or RT. He excels at both and wants playing time as a FR.

When it comes to decision factors, Matthews had this to say: “Just seeing where me and my parents feel more comfortable at and who they feel more comfortable with as a coaching staff.”
 
Parsing his words carefully, moms and pops are going to play a bigger role here than previously speculated. Let's hope we've got a mama Collins type on our side in this recruitment.
