Lol say we don't win I would love a match up with us vs Wisconsin in the Orange bowl. Give us another big slow team in our house for a new years 6 game. I like our chances for a playoff appearance though. Nice that win or lose in the ACC championship we have great bowl game options
 
I'll take it. It's an acknowledgement of our success. But I will not "consume the Rat Poison" and I trust our team will not either.
 
Make no mistake, if a 2 loss * wins the Big Ten they will be in over a 1 loss Miami. Something tells me Harbaugh will finally get his first big win at Michigan this Saturday tho :)

There is no way Herbstreit or anyone else knows for sure. What if Ohio State beats Wisconsin by 40? Or we somehow lose by double digits to Clemson? Not saying either will happen -- I firmly believe we beat Clemson -- but no one knows for sure what the committee would do in such a scenario.
 
Anyone right now banking on the committee putting in a 1 loss Miami is setting themselves up for disappointment.

Too many teams bunched up, too many big money programs still lurking.
 
First - beat Pitt handily. No excuses for not beating them. They are 4-7 and really down right now. Second, continue the revenge tour. Clemson spanked us 58-0 last time. If they spank us again, kiss the playoff goodbye. But beat them in any way and we in. A close game where we lose (not happening) might even get us in if it is decided on the last possession. We owe them worse than the teams that beat us last year. Then playoffs and just stop the run like we have these past three games and the rest will take care of itself. Take away the last 23 yard run by UVA on the last play and they were 27 rushes for 32 yards. When we dominate the defensive line, we are better than anyone in the country because when the other team has to throw to move the ball the turnover chain will come out often. Holdnorth is right the turnover chain is Heisman worthy.
 
It would have to be an epic ACC CG for them to bring both teams in. I mean EPIC...

you may be the REAL cfb expert. you really should alert ESPN cause all their on air experts disagreed with you. they ALL said if we lose close we dont drop out of the top 4, but you know better than them. let espn know. i hear they pay really well for those jobs.

Of course, beating Pitt and Clemson will make things simple.

Playing devil's advocate, why is a 1 loss Oklahoma such a slam dunk over a 1 loss Miami? If Miami beats Pitt decisively and loses to Clemson, why should Oklahoma, who lost at home to an unranked team, get the invite over a Miami team whose only loss was to a playoff team?
 
We’ve been in the playoffs since tally. Win and survive. Four more games and glory days are here again.

We gotta win...Bama pretty much in no matter what. Best SEC bet is that Bama wins out, we ain't getting in over them with a loss unless ours is a close close one and they get blown out. I'd say best bet of us getting in with a loss is Bama winning out and Wiscy and/or OU loss.

I'd prefer we just beat their asses.
 
We are not losing to Clemson. We will be #1 after Auburn takes care of Bama.

My question was and remains, what happens if Bama loses to Auburn in the Iron Bowl match up? My guess is tbey fall 2 -4 or more places then the SEC championship could further muddle the final line up. Maybe bring Oklahoma or Wisconsin up? We win out including and especially beating Clemson....gonna be a real interesting couple of weeks.
