There is no way Herbstreit or anyone else knows for sure. What if Ohio State beats Wisconsin by 40? Or we somehow lose by double digits to Clemson? Not saying either will happen -- I firmly believe we beat Clemson -- but no one knows for sure what the committee would do in such a scenario. He clarified later saying we wouldn't drop out of the playoff IF Ohio State beats Wisconsin. If Wisconsin, OU, Bama and Clemson win out that's the playoff.
But it don't matter, we're beating Pitt and rolling Clemson.
It would have to be an epic ACC CG for them to bring both teams in. I mean EPIC...
If we lose to Clemson we are out of the playoffs. Stop trying to make up scenarios. If we lose to Clemson but ohst beat wisc I feel like the committee will give ohst a spot.
cliffnotes version of all this: everyone needs to win out except Clemson and Wisky. We can either get in straight up, or through the back door this way.
So, here's a thought, Bama loses to Auburn...then what?
