How else is Kirk going to get a headline right now? Nobody cares about his take on Ohio State's 2nd string QB at a time like this, so if he wants to generate clicks and eyeballs, he's got to say something about Corona. He also knows that no one is going to call him out in 6 months or 9 months whenever the first football game is played.

Why do we take the things these sports media personalities say so seriously? Kirk is an entertainer in the snowflake era. If he said, "***** the health risks, get out there and play", sure he'd get clicks for that, but he'd also probably lose his job. This take is as predictable as it is foolish and meaningless.

Bingo, IMO it's borderline irresponsible or maybe just insensitive to drop something like that on everyone as we all sit with our thumb up our ***.

He signed a 2 year deal bro. Cap will get tougher next season though with Howard, Godwin, David likely getting raises.
 
Lot more creditable if came from a scientist or health-related expert and not a half-*** college football analyst.

That's why I like him although I think he finally gave up on Miami (and rightfully so). He's pretty legit with most of his opinions but he's a secret Canes fan under it all even though he was a Suckeye....gotta respect that.

With our luck, King will prob then enter the draft or whatever bridge they come up with for draft eligible players if the season is suspended this year.

A boatload of money behind the NCAA and NFL.

Gonna be really tough to shut down all that revenue for schools, NFL owners, athletes, et al.
 
We ******* need sports. Football can be played without fans in the stadiums if need be. Any player that doesn't feel comfortable can sit out. However, the **** needs to go on starting in a few months. You can't let the entire economy go to absolute **** EVEN though some more people will die.
 
I'd be absolutely SHOCKED if the money hungry NFL and NCAA don't find a way to have seasons this year. The NFL is already sending middle fingers to the world by keeping the draft in place next month.

Once this had made its first sweep through the populace, enough people will have antibodies.

If I had to guess, I'd say we'll have fall sports.
 
A more responsible comment would have been to say it’s too early to tell yet. He has a lot of followers and what he says has a big impact on people’s perception. I believe it is way too early to to say one way or another.

The same amount of people will get the virus no matter what (short of a vaccine). The trick is buying us weeks and months rightt now will allow for better resources and less danger when you do get it.

This virus won’t be under control until we actually have testing widely available throughout the country not just for people with symptoms, but also to identify asymptotic people who can also transmit the virus. The lack of testing has created this absolute chaos and helped to destroy the economy. Between the deaths and economic destruction, there will never be a sufficient apology or explanation for how the S Koreans were running 20,000 tests per day a month age, and yesterday the entire State of Georgia had 5500 tests!

all that absolute incompetence aside, life will have to resume at some point, including sports. Athletes will be tested before practices and games, and if they test negative they will be allowed to play. I Don;t think you’ll have fans in seats in 2020 in any sport because WE DON’T HAVE ENOUGH TESTS to make it safe to stand 6 inches from a stranger.

similarly, most of us won’t ride in planes, stay at hotels, visit casinos, attend concerts, and many won’t dine in at restaurants until who know who has the virus and who does not.
this is a 12-24 months process. Let’s hope it’s 12 months.

Yeah you're right. Doris Burke said she has antibodies and she wants to give blood if that helps the infected.
