Since I'm close with This situation I will clarify something's since the writer only quoted 2 lines of the interview from Cronkrite. As he said it's not about competition but if the staff said one thing to him and now they are doing something else who knows if this will be the last time they change their mind on something which would affect him in one way or another. He was raised to honor his word and he expects the people he deals with to do the same and right now they aren't.

Him being realistic has to do with 3 coming in how do they determine who gets first crack behind Yearby because I can tell you the staff is not even counting much from Gus and Tucker may be gone. Now some people may disagree with what I have been told but out of the 3 Walton gets first crack because of him being a pipeline kid. The staff has denied this to Cronkrite which was brought up by his family and head coach but he is starting to wonder how much he can believe what they say.

I'm friends with a few HS head coaches down here and we have talked about this situation and they don't like how it's going and mention this is something the staff has done in the last few years and it hasn't sat well with them and they keep it in the back of their minds when dealing with their players.

Now say what you want about this situation but this is a kid that shut his recruiting down completely after committing only to now have to do something he never wanted to do and that is start listening to more BS from other schools.

This staff never gonna win with "high school coaches down here " you miss on big time players you get bashed , you get big time players to commit they still bash because their player might not be talented enough to beat another guy out , if JC wants out best of luck to him but him being a well brought up kid should know there's no guaranteed success for a high school player going into college who knows if 3 out of the 4 don't pan out ? He should understand that if a big time recruit from down here wants in YOU let him in we aren't in a position to turn kids away , whoever JC goes he'll have to fight for a spot

You're missing the entire point here...the staff told Cronkrite one thing, and did another. The staff lied to him.

That's not the first time this staff has done that either.

The staff lied??? We had Williams and Cronkite when he committed. Walton hadn't reclassified, maybe they thought it wouldn't be possible. We need to slow down with this staff lied stuff. Love to see where else they lied in the past.

Lied to him saying what ? That they weren't expecting more than 2 committed rb ? That is not a lie cause at the time they weren't expecting Walton to reclassify or scarllet to even consider us , so where did they lie ? Because no one in their right mind would believe "look jc if Williams Walton and scarlet all happen to end up in this class we will only take you and another then tell the other two to kick rocks " just stop it man it's recruiting either he comes in an earns his spot or go somewhere else and earn his spot no need to start that staff bashing bull**** cause top RB in florida wanna come here **** makes no sense , and just my two cents JC is better at safety

I'm confused by exactly what the staff is supposed to do to satisfy Cronkrite. Are they supposed to tell Walton to not try to graduate with his actual age group? Are they supposed to not recruit Scarlett when Williams is in enemy territory and may bolt? If they did everything Cronkrite wants them to do regarding this situation they may wind up with just Cronkrite which might be what he prefers anyway.

What do you mean tucker may be gone?

So is the staff suppose to turn down Scarlett and tell Walton not to reclassify?

No win situation.

So JC gonna run to florida then Patrick commits to florida and let's say williams flips I wonder then if the UF staff would have lied to JC also , or maybe JC and his camp believe that florida will turn williams and Patrick down for him

Even if Scarlett wasn't considering us which is definitely not the case.... Would jc still decommit if it was him, walton and Williams. Because I mean no one knew walton would reclassify into this class and after all he has been committed to UM since last year...... Then Dex decided to commit and shortly after cronkrite. I want all of the running backs but it may not be possible... After duke leaves this year we only have yearby and gus with tuck playing full back.... We need at least 3-4 running backs in this class alone.....

I appreciate the insight, Token. Thanks.

It's a really interesting situation to monitor. At the time when Cronkrite committed, Williams was considered highly unlikely to stick and Walton was still a 2016 commit. The staff has continued to recruit Scarlett the entire time, which makes sense for many reasons (extremely talented, potential pipeline school at STA, close friends with possible 2016 commit Sam Bruce).

I wouldn't blame Cronkrite at all for looking around and/or decommitting if two of the other three commit and want to stick. But I'm curious as to how quickly he intends to make his decision. There's certainly a chance that Walton doesn't officially reclassify and Williams succumbs to family pressure and flips. In that scenario, he'd be the only back in the class as the staff continues to pursue Scarlett.

All I can take from Token Cane's comments is that the Cronkrite faction wants the Miami staff to stop doing their jobs. And if its not too much trouble they should tell Walton to stop taking so many classes and relax.

Unless there is more to it than simply taking two running backs and the apparent paranoia of handing the backup job to Walton.

Tough situation.

I'm upset Cronk is upset.

But Walton reclassified. But who knows if it's legit. And Williams may bolt to UF. So we have to keep recruiting Scarlett. But then Cronk might leave.

House of cards.

Hopefully Cronk is patient and let's some cards fall first.

I hate that he feels betrayed and coaches down here quietly but always seem to have axes to grind. It's a tough balancing act, this recruiting game and the relationships and the numbers, but Miami always seems to be fighting an uphill battle. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

This I got to hear. What is the staff doing, so that we can all be on the same page and compare it to recruiting in general.

It is some complete bull**** that you all are throwing **** out there with veiled details. No one is asking for what players and coaches, but what are the circumstances.

I didn't say the staff lied because this situation is still going on. What Jordan is saying is he is going to monitor the situation and how it plays out. There has been a lot of things that have been said to Jordan and his family which isn't going to be shared on here or anywhere so this situation has to play out.

It's not about the staff satisfying Cronkrite in any way. He wants to be part of a 2 RB class and our staff has said on numerous occasions they are only taking 2. Walton reclassifying was brought up months ago between Cronkrite and staff and what I can tell you now is the staff didn't expect it at all and it's still not official because there may be issues with it and only time will tell.

As a recruit this is the one time you get to choose the best situation for you and he thought he had the best situation but things change so you can't fault the kid for questioning the situation and being cautious.

Cream rises to the top. Good luck to the kid and hope he sticks

Explain. I thought Williams and Walton were committed to Miami before Cronk. Explain the lies.

Our fans with their SFL connections do more negative recruiting against us than our rivals.

He should wait this out cause.

1. Theirs a chance Walton might not even be in this class. Far from official.

2. And it's looking like Williams not gonna be used as a true RB.

3. And how are we gonna turn down Scarlett? Come on man.

4. Jordan can play safety or possibly even receiver too if runningback doesn't work for him. Or what's to say if one of these other guys don't pan out either.

5. It's a wide open competition. Good chance Duke leaves after the year. Yearby would be the running man, 3-4 of our backs get good time in our offense. If JC is good enough, he can bypass the redshirt and play right away next year. Theirs competition where ever you go. And theirs 3 what ifs going on too, if Walton even reclassifies, what Williams really going to play here and even if Scarlett's even coming here.

6. Staff didn't really know if Walton was gonna reclassify and if he still is, it's very iffy. And looking like Williams gonna be used all around, not a true RB. Williams is very raw, but has the ability. Scarlett and Cronk would be the only most natural runningbacks in 15 if Walton came in 16.

7. Lot of what ifs going on. Needs to play out.

I like Cronk, like his game. But to be the best you have to compete. If he does see this too, hope he doesn't take it as an attack cause I've always been a fan of Cronk. Tough to average 11 a carry in Dade and I was dying for his commitment. Kid loves the Canes too. Put on for your city and grind. Nothing is ever just handed to you in this world, you work for it.

The staff has been very open to answering all of him and his family's questions in regards to this. Obviously they have told him what he wants but the situation is still unfolding.

Nothing to explain. The guy has been throwing around nonsense for awhile. A lot of legitimate negative things you can say about the staff but he is doing a poor job of it in a couple of threads.
