too many kids scared to compete these days, need more kids like Walton who want to compete. "just being realistic" what does that even mean?

Not liking what Cronkrite is saying.

Who doesn't want to play on a team with great talent?
How can you be mad when something unexpected happens and Walton reclassifies?

Hope he sticks though, love his potential.

Tough news on Cronkite. Hopefully he shows out and realized he can stand out even with the other backs committed.

Imo I think Cronkrite is the best pure RB from the group, I'm not really sold on Scarlett, so I would hope he sticks with us all the way through. At the end of the day though I still think we get Irvin, you know the Playmaker is in his ear about playing for the U, and now he even has the possibility of playing with his cousin.

Since I'm close with This situation I will clarify something's since the writer only quoted 2 lines of the interview from Cronkrite. As he said it's not about competition but if the staff said one thing to him and now they are doing something else who knows if this will be the last time they change their mind on something which would affect him in one way or another. He was raised to honor his word and he expects the people he deals with to do the same and right now they aren't.

Him being realistic has to do with 3 coming in how do they determine who gets first crack behind Yearby because I can tell you the staff is not even counting much from Gus and Tucker may be gone. Now some people may disagree with what I have been told but out of the 3 Walton gets first crack because of him being a pipeline kid. The staff has denied this to Cronkrite which was brought up by his family and head coach but he is starting to wonder how much he can believe what they say.

I'm friends with a few HS head coaches down here and we have talked about this situation and they don't like how it's going and mention this is something the staff has done in the last few years and it hasn't sat well with them and they keep it in the back of their minds when dealing with their players.

Now say what you want about this situation but this is a kid that shut his recruiting down completely after committing only to now have to do something he never wanted to do and that is start listening to more BS from other schools.

This staff never gonna win with "high school coaches down here " you miss on big time players you get bashed , you get big time players to commit they still bash because their player might not be talented enough to beat another guy out , if JC wants out best of luck to him but him being a well brought up kid should know there's no guaranteed success for a high school player going into college who knows if 3 out of the 4 don't pan out ? He should understand that if a big time recruit from down here wants in YOU let him in we aren't in a position to turn kids away , whoever JC goes he'll have to fight for a spot

Johnson and Irvin = future Gatas

Them boys canes

I used to think that...not so much anymore.

Will be interesting because I don't see UF winning more the 7 games. Think that staff will be fired at the end of the year.

They only won 4 games last year and that didn't seem to impact JC Jackson, CJ Worton, Khairi Clark, Treon Harris, and Brandon Powell.

Miami got their *** kicked by good competition and it didn't matter to Hester, Moten and Thomas. Good players all over the country overlook poor seasons.

I'm sure there are kids who didn't like the 4-8 season and the putrid offense and decided to go somewhere else too. They weren't 100%

Disappointed to say the least. Their is competition anywhere you go. No one is handed a job.

Even though I do believe Cronk will end up in the class, those words make me very disappointed in him. Don't like the kid any less now, but you have to be willing to compete.

And I do think Scarlett is coming now too.

No guarentee Walton coming in 15 at all.

And Williams is more of an athlete.

Staff didn't lie. They couldn't control if Walton was coming in 15 or 16.

And I'm pretty sure he's been informed how we want to use Dexter.

I like Cronk, but if it's true, I'm disappointed, because you have to compete anywhere, regardless of where you go.

Theirs a good chance Duke is gone after this year too.

You're missing the entire point here...the staff told Cronkrite one thing, and did another. The staff lied to him.

That's not the first time this staff has done that either.

Walton hasn't officially reclassified and Williams is coming more as an athlete. So if Scarlett commits then technically we only have 2 RB's committed and JC can keep his pledge. There was no way of knowing Walton would reclassify when JC gave his commitment. To think coaches lied over taking 2 RB's is a little much, things happen. He should wait it out and see how it unfolds before decommitting. Take his visits and let it play out.

Curious what you mean by Tucker may be gone. Where did that come from?

This kid has to be pretty naïve if he thinks Miami is gonna turn down one the best backs in the country if he wants to commit, regardless what they told him at the time he committed. Things change quickly, especially in recruiting in this day and age.

How does the coaching staff honor their word with Walton? It's a unique situation, but Jordan should know recruiting is fluid and a lot of things can happen. As long as the coaching staff is up front and keeping the kids in the loop as things might evolve, there is nothing wrong with what is transpiring. I don't blame Jordan for exhausting his outlets, just don't come out and say the coaching staff told me their only bringing in 2 so I bailing. The truth is that it might impact his playing time and might have a better chance to seeing the field somewhere that doesn't have a stable of backs like Florida. Walton's comments cry what's better for the team and Jordan's sound like what's best for Jordan.
