I assume we'll be top 20 easily if we can close on Barkate and Mensah.

Also these rankings have Lagway ahead of Mensah and had Keionte and Jakobe as bottom of the barrel pickups. Take them with a grain of salt.

For one thing, we are counting on a QB and WR that are not actually in the class yet.

Presumably, that will have an impact on the rankings if it plays out. (God help this place if it doesn't).

But honestly, I still don't think we will be that high based on the numbers alone.

In order to really judge portal season I think you have to count retention as well.

As of right now, I think Popo is the only real loss with a few others that had unproven potential.

On net, I think we came out in very good shape.

Mario has built an actual roster. He no longer needs to depend on a portal class to fill half the roster. That is why this team is built for the long haul. Meanwhile you have clowns like Memphis Mike and Deion trying to build a new team year in a year out. That’s not sustainable and it is showing big time. Yes Indiana is the outlier here. Let’s see how they perform next year.

Obviously rankings don’t consider retention. We have Toney returning, but if he bolted for Bama, Texas, etc. they’d get a massive rankings boost.

Need to view portal the way NFL teams do free agency. You want to maintain core of roster, bring in young talent thru draft/HS recruitment & then use free agency/portal to plug needs & augment roster.
