Has the ACC given an update [on FSU game Safety]

The announcers were perplexed. Annoyed really. And discussed this at great length.

For that reason alone, I’d like to see this discussion continued because officiating is an ongoing, inconsistent circus.

It’s a billion dollar sport and we have nonsense like this that impacts the game.

I’d be saying this if Miami wasn’t involved in the game, but this was a rivalry game with playoff implications…

Fix the ******* officiating and replay system across college football …
It’s sad when even all the FSUck fans were like yea that’s a safety .

it's really close. This shot looks like it's possible the entire ball is still in the field of play.

Either way he bobbled the ball on the way down so it should have been a safety.

The outcome of 3 games was put in the hands of these redneck insurance salesmen.

No....Ball being in field of play at that moment means absolutely nothing.....THIS pic below is all that matters....

Agree. The ball being in the field of play only matters if forward progress was stopped. The issue here is Travis is running backwards and he has given up his right to forward progress. This same thing happens all the time when a receiver catches the ball at the sticks and runs backwards to try to gain more yards and gets stuffed. You don't reward that player and give him the furthest point he caught the ball. He gave the right up on his own and the ball remains where he is tackled. The rules don't change just because the endzone is involved. That was the same situation with Kluber. He gave up his forward progress by running backwards. So two times, I repeat 2 times, instead of rewarding Miami with points, they rewarded a player for stupidly running backwards in the endzone. You could not make up this narrative if you wanted to before the season started.

And that's exactly how the refs treated it in both games. Suddenly there was a different set of rules. As long as the QB started the play outside the end zone, then there's no way the ball could be ruled down in the end zone at its conclusion. What a joke.

Even if the ball is in the field of play, it wasn't whistled dead, Travis could have extended the play, but that didn't happen as they hoped, instead he was tackled in the end zone. Safety

I’m waiting for it to escalate to sheer Soviet ludicrousness. Such as a 59 yard Mark Fletcher run for a TD…he’s three yards into the end zone when he spikes the ball in celebration. The august ACC refs then call it a fumble.

Let me go ahead and make a prediction for this Saturday:

1) Reuben Bain will strip-sack the Louisville QB in his own end zone.

2) After the ball bounces around on the turf, the Louisville QB will fall on it 8 yards deep in his own end zone for the recovery.

3) Ruling? Louisville ball at its own 1-yard line.

4) Replay booth calls for review to make sure they got it right.

5) After review: "The play stands as called."

Exactly! IF Travis had shook free from that tackle and ran with it they would not have marked him down at the 1" line. He was retreating on his own trying to avoid a sack and the whistle didnt blow. The defender did not tackle/pull him back into the endzone. His momentum did not take him into the endzone. He RAN into the endzone. Safety

Except even if that rule were followed, Wes almost jars the ball loose and Travis didn’t have complete possession. Still 110% a muhfuggin safety.
We all know the fix is in, the acc had to have fspoo win to represent the conference.

So, to all the "it's better if fspoo is undefeated when Miami plays them" fuvcktards, EAT A BAG OF ****S, morons
