Happy for Choc

Congrats young man!! Continued success. Looking forward to seeing you in the end zone at some point this year.

I saw that he graduated. Not too shabby to graduate from an institution like Miami for a kid that barely got in. Goes to show you football does good in a lot of kids lives!
The reality is that if you have the kid in a captured environment, provide academic support and THE KID STUDIES HARD, then you can get through college. Football and The U provided that environment for him.

Glad to hear this young man succeed. This right here is why I hate the discussion that they should pay players and do away with the scholarships. Very few athletes ever get to the pros, but at the end of the day, they can walk away with a college education from a place they otherwise would have no shot at getting into. Replacing the scholarship system would hurt so many of these kids futures.

That's complete nonsense. You can still educate, AND pay student-athletes a decent wage. At the least, they should own their own likenesses. Let's be honest, how many of these borderline academic cases are walking with marketable degrees? I'm happy for Choc, I only pray his degree isn't in something useless like Liberal Arts. Too many kids are walking with degrees that won't mean much of anything in the real world.

That said, I didn't think he would survive academically, so it's nice to see that he found a way to grind his way through. Shoutout to the academic services people in the athletic department, they helped make this happen.

I have stayed on the Choc bandwagon since he committed. Don’t care if he takes another snap. The Canes need to take 2 local flyers like him every class. Adds so much character to the team and half payoff on the field, as well... Still think they should have moved him to safety two seasons ago.

this right here makes his time a UM a success. This is a local success story. This program may have changed his life(and lets give him credit, he put in the work).

Here's hoping he can contribute a few plays this upcoming season and leave with some memories.

I may be wrong, but the fact that he will participate this Fall in football means that he will do so as a graduate student...kid made it to grad school!!!
