The difference between Auburn and Miami is COACHING.... THE END.
It's not talent level, its coaching.... Auburn still has areas that they could improve their level of talent on the field at but yet they still figured out a way to win the SEC WEST.
And even though no one wouldve said Auburn is loaded w/ talent at every position before, now thats the reason Auburn is so good this year....lol c'mon Golden worshipers try harder.
A team that's well coached gets visibly better during the season.... Auburn would have gotten raped by Bama if they played in the beginning of the season. But as the season progresses, a good coach will have their team playing better on both sides of the ball and thats what happened when they played Bama this past Saturday.
Auburn had no real expectations from the SEC media or their fan base.... they just came from a 3-9 season. I didnt see Gus Malzahn crying about how "it's a process" "we're still building" when they lost to LSU by 14, unlike Al Golden when Miami lost to Duke by 18. smh
Miami will never get back to being a team playing at an elite level as long as u have coaches and fans that applaud mediocrity and make excuses about every weak thing imaginable.
I assume this response was directed at my post. The difference between Miami and Auburn is coaching AND talent. I said Auburn is better because of coaching and talent, not one or the other, several times in my post.
You make assorted claims regarding talent levels but not once in my post did I say that Auburn is loaded at every position. They do, however, have more talent than Miami on defense and as a program overall. You claim they (Auburn) don't yet you offer no evidence to prove otherwise. I can provide more "star" rankings if you want to back up my point.
As for Malzhan quotes after the loss to LSU, even a cursory glance from a google search doesn't support your contention. Malzhan made some classic coach speak comments after the loss. For example, "We have been talking about improving each practice and each game, and even though it hurts right now I think there were some good things out there that we could improve upon for the rest of the year." Or "I am very proud of our guys, and with the attitude they have we have a chance to get better and improve. Even though it feels bad right now, we have an off week, and we can clean some things up and move forward." Sounds an awful lot like the things that Golden and almost every other coach say after a loss.
The facts are that Malzhan came into a much better situation than Golden did talent wise and condition of the program wise. In addition, Malzhan is better than 99.9% of all coaches in football so their return to prominence is not as shocking to anyone that actually analyzes the situation. If you honestly believe the only difference in the situations at each school is their records then it really is pointless to discuss this topic further with you. Looking at your posts, it is quite clear that you have an anti-Golden agenda and will not let facts and reason persuade you otherwise so I am sure this was just a waste of bandwith but thought it deserved to be stated.
Miami's issue is defensive coaching AND defensive talent. Any objective observer can see that. Miami needs better schemes and better talent at every position besides CB. Golden must correct these, because it is his job to do so, or he should be fired. In my opinion, he deserves another year or two in order to correct these problems or he should be fired. He deserves this time because he had the NCAA investigation to contend with that hampered Miami more than most can imagine.
