Gus Edwards another 100 yard game

Gus is a product of the system right now. There is a reason he didn't make the team to start the year. He really isn't that good.

REMEMBER, HE STARTED RUNNING ONE THE PISTOL SPREAD WAS IMPLEMENTED WITH LAMAR JACKSON.

Alfred Morris received the same fruits with RG3.
Hatin is bad for your health

This is the best the Ravens have looked in 5 years and Gus is averaving 5.1 yds. per carry for 642 yds. as the feature back (581 yds. in the last 6 games) Why would a coach mess with these results?

Cause the starting RB is out injured. What would a better RB do?

Alex Collins' 411 yds for a 3.6 avg. makes him a better back then Gus?

Stupidity is rampant on this forum....they are running a whole different O now that Jackson is the QB

And why the fvck are people keep bringing up a Rutger alum on here

Yeah and your the lead dumb ***.

And why are you reading and responding to a thread about a Rutgers alum?

He was a graduate transfer to Rutgers, meaning that he graduated from the U. How many of our previous running backs are graduates? If anything, he is role model for people to keep working hard and not give up on their dreams. I support what he is doing.

Is the hate because he voluntarily left the program? Well, he spent 4 seasons contributing to our program, which is more years than Walton (left by personal choice), Yearby (left by personal choice), and Duke (left by personal choice).

Yet his profiles say Rutgers....................And using Walton and Yearby who were dumb and left early are horrible examples AND correct me if I am wrong(I am not) Edwards left by personal choice

You got me on why people hate Gus and go out of their way to marginalize his performance with the Ravens?

To me he gave it his best shot and just couldn't break out at the "U". You'd think he'd be bitter towards Miami but he isn't.

The profile (whatever one you are referencing) may only list his latest education, but it doesn't change the fact that he is a graduate and four year player at the U. Quit hating on our own.

Graduate transferring is a part of the next progression for some players as a way to showcase their talent in a new setting/system and improve their skill set. We usually pick up one or two every year of these players.

Gus edwards is a university of Miami alum not Rutgers and still reps the canes .

RB rotation:

2014 - (Golden) Duke, Gus, Yearby
2015 - (Golden) Gus, Yearby, Walton. Gus got hurt just before the season but would've been the starter
2016 (Richt) Walton, Yearby, Gus

The RB rotation had less to do with their talent and more to do with the personal preference of the coaches.

But yes, Gus would've been getting carries over Yearby & Walton if he hadn't gotten hurt.

There's a lot of misinformation in this thread

Duke Johnson could be a 3 down RB in college, and was better than Gus in college, but he's too small to be a 3 down RB in the NFL. But as smaller 3rd down pass catching RB - he's as good as anyone in the NFL at that role - Chris Thompson, Tarik Cohen, Theo Riddick, Gio Bernard, Austin Ekeler, etc.

Gus put up good rushing numbers in games earlier this year when Flacco was still QB vs. Ten, Car & Pit - so against good defenses. He averaged 4.3 ypc vs. Collins 3.5 ypc in those games. And Gus has been putting up better numbers than Kenneth Dixon since Lamar Jackson took over.

So it sin't that Gus is just playing well because other RB's got hurt, or is just benefiting from the system & Lamar Jackson. He's just straight up playing really well right now.
