Guard Play

Glad your happy that SJ is “winning” by being a turnstile at Guard lol what an interesting angle to take
How am I happy when I was pointing it out as major concern all offseason? We have a championship roster and we cheaped out on seaton at the closing table.. This line needed a piece after we got screwed with late 5 for 5 ruling that we could of got bell or Anez cooper to come back, especially anez as he is a 6th round pick and woulda got paid probably double/triple

I don’t care what “communication” problem congdon is having as long as he knows the words left and right he’s good, SJ just isn’t a guard and won’t become one, get cantwell or congdon in now to take there lumps and get better throughout the season.

Nice change up. I agree idk how you saw this guard play and not found SOMEONE in the portal to bridge while the young guys got going

Maybe that was merriweather but he might be the only dude whose worse than SJ because he couldn’t even hold a block against FAMU

I’m not gonna pretend to know NIL numbers but I gotta imagine guards ain’t making seaton, pancake, or Cantwell money

Bad, they like those guys its the only reason they are playing its the relationships. Cant be any other reason. Guard play will cost this team a natty
That will be the new narrative they want to play their guys cause of relationships and they recruited them

I don’t think that is it. I do think we need to put them in 3 pt stances and at least let them fire off the ball and hit a mutha$%5<4. Right now we’re just absorbing blows and getting shed

McCoy isn’t it inside but we have to try something to be honest. Man we F’in miss Anez and brockmeyer. Although I don’t think Rodriguez is the worse

Both Wake Forest, and our own staff, realized during the course of the game where our offense’s achilles heel is, and that’s the interior of our offensive line. WF started sending continuous pressure up the middle to take advantage of that and I believe our staff went into a shell in the 2nd half because they were afraid our Center and OGs were going to inevitably crumble under the pressure and get Mensah killed.

Boy, we really need the young guys to grow up FAST and supplant the placeholders at OG ASAP because you know **** well that future opposing defenses are going to try to duplicate WF’s strategy going forward
Yup and SJ ushered him into the club! Could’ve swore buddy slipped SJ a C-Note to skip the line lol

also if we are going to trot SJ out there put him in a 3 pt stance and let him at least use his diminutive stature to get underneath people and try to drive them

Buchanan too. They’re absorbing not driving
lol make his lil *** chop block every snap

Them not properly reloading the oline after losing 4 starters is aging like a terrible decision for this year. I still believe in the young players potential but for this year?

You’re not gonna beat osu/texas/uga with this oline unless we see humongous leaps in season which is very unlikely and sounds like cope

Its reminding me of when they overestimated themselves with the secondary in 2024, dawson/mensah/toney will have to cover alot up. Because teams with better dlines and better secondaries will just replicate what wake did in the 2nd half

Poor evals on the line. They swung for the fences with Seaton. They shoulda just focused on getting guys that can play p4 football.

A sub 6 foot guard? At the University of Miami...
Foh man

Im not namebrand bro, it will be taken the wrong way because I am freaking ****ED.. I said the oline hole looks like the safety hole of '24. Idk how some of us can see the issue from mile away and we are basically a competent vet body short.. Portal RARELY ever has top 10 NFL pick fall in lap, You HAVE TO make exception to whatever roster contracts you have because you basically jeopardize entire 40 mil roster and 6 mil QB by not having Oline set in a championship manner..

This could of just been looked at as a bridge line where we had to invest heavily til the young guys are ready in '27. Its a complete disservice to have to depend on MULTIPLE true freshman on a champhionship roster and your QB.. Im confused what happened to offense second half..

We had players open, even Mali who we spam and Mensah couldnt find them, was he starting to see ghost? Was he sped up? By wake, YIIIKES.. SJ is dam near unplayable against Standford and Wake.. Stanford. Wake.

Imagine an OL of Bell, McCoy, Cooper, Samson, and a portal C. Not some 6’2 bum who can’t snap and has been here for 6 years.

Press man and let the dline win and get home

Preaching to the choir here bro. Called it out all offseason with you

Mario and Mirabel were feeling themselves far too much this offseason, my only explanation I can give
