WHy do you guys keep saying SJ is center? He cant snap lol.. He not trying to learn and wants to play guard.. He is starting at guard. He isnt the back up center and hasnt played center. Is that just to protect him instead of saying he shouldnt be here?
 
You have to go with the national title upside here.

If it’s going to be a struggle regardless, stop going with the elevated floor guys. You didn’t come into this season to win 9 or 10 games.

The expectation is deep run into the playoffs. Which OL combo has a chance of allowing that by the end of the year? That’s the combo to go with.

My concern is good DT’s and the push they will get without a blitz. That will wreck our offfense as we saw last night and any offense for that matter. Playoff team will eat our lunch and yes I do believe we make the playoffs. The run we make is depended on the o line and our health.

OL coach & head coach are gurus on the subject, so assume there’s a reason behind who sees the field.

Buchanan isn’t an all conference player but I think he can improve as the season goes on. SJ cannot play on this offensive line.
 
What about Woodrow at center with Rodriguez at guard? SJ left in coral gables. How about Pickett over max on the other side ? I mean they clearly don’t like Cantwell and congdon. Try something man. Wilkerson? Idk man

No **** Ryan Rodriguez. He’s soft, small, and can’t ******* do ****. There’s a reason he’s been here for 6 years.
 
If Mario and Alex Mirabal can't get this OL fixed we aren't winning anything. Maybe the ACC, but will be a quick playoff exit.

My take on it as a fan and knowing nothing about OL is perhaps take our lumps with......

Ryan
McCoy
Cantwell

Like I said after the Stanford game, SJ should never play for Miami again.
 
If we’re being honest, Rodriguez is also ***. There’s a reason we kept going after center year after year while he was here. He’s trash

Rodriguez would look even worse at guard because he wouldn’t be getting any help on a lot of combo blocks. It’s center or bench for him.

The problem is we don’t have any option at C because SJ can’t play the position he was brought here for and Woodrow at a minimum isn’t ready.

I think We should have got a portal C again just like the last 2 seasons but Mirabel and Mario love Rodriguez for whatever reason so we’ll have to live with it.

I wonder how true the snapping thing even is. He, along with our OL in general struggle to figure out who to block. As C he’d typically be responsible for helping make those calls/adjustments being that he has played G his whole life. Makes me wonder if the communication/recognition side is a hurdle. Cause it’s hard to believe snapping is that big of a concern.

I like SJ, but if he can’t play C I wonder what his ceiling is here.

If SJ can’t play C and Woodrow is this far away he can’t play real snaps, we need to think long and hard about next year and whether we’re just going to hand him the C job.

I was at a concert last night, so only watched a few moments of 2nd half. But having watched LT’s video last week, how much of our issues inside ‘SJ/Max can’t block’ vs lack of communication in general or RR isn’t making adjustments properly

This is the only OL lineup with the requisite talent for us to make noise in the playoffs, if everything clicks. Tengwell might be right about not just throwing young dudes to the wolves, but something has to give. Gonna need this line combo to get together for ND week. Gotta experience the only really tough DL before we prospectively get towards the ACC Champ/ playoffs.
