Gronk Retires

Yup. Probably Vince McMahon too.

his back is too ****ed up to wrestle, and those guys' bodies take a beating on a weekly basis. gronk would probably keep playing if he could since the three biggest loves in his life are (in this order)
1) football season
2) the offseason
3) banging **** stars

Most dominant TE of all time. Gonzales has the longevity but he never could take over a game the way Gronk did, and that’s not even close

If Gonzales played in this era his numbers would have been even more ridiculous. TEs are putting up insane numbers these days.

Gonzales did play in this era... he retired six years ago. I'd say that qualifies as "these days" to most folks around here.

Its also worth noting that Gronk was the best blocking TE in the league for the 9 years he played. Like I said, dominant in all facets of the game.

Haha. I don't disagree with any of that but I wasn't talking about him being a regular week-in week-out member of the WWE roster. I do bet you see him work some mini angle and do a ppv or two with the next year or two though. I think pro wrasslin' has gotten to a point where they can protect guys that are injured or susceptible to injury enough that they can still perform on a limited or short term basis.

As far as the movie career, I absolutely expect to see him in The Expendables Part 26 or the next Fast & Furious where Vin Diesel is racing golf carts in a retirement community.

2nd greatest tight end of my lifetime behind Tony Gonzalez. 1st ballot no doubt. Pats dont beat Chiefs without him in AFC title game. Hate the Pats so I’m glad he’s retiring.

Pats don’t beat Kansas City if Dee Ford wasn’t called for off sides, if the replay booth didn’t overturn the muff punt w/o inconclusive evidence, and if Tom Brady wasn’t hit and the refs call roughing the passer.

Yeah, I got issues w that game and quite frankly I hate both teams. Between “the tuck rule” which hasn’t been called since, and that KC game, I got some issues w some of those championships NE has.

Sorry, I digress. Lol

Winslow Srs performance against the Fins in 81 Playoff game is without question the Greatest game ever played by a TE in NFL History....He was so far ahead of the other TEs athletically that its really not fair....Go watch those Fouts led teams....

I HATE the Pats but ya gotta respect that f*cking meathead though. Goin out on top, never got in any real trouble despite keeping the party image and supposedly still has all his money.

"I HATE the Pats but ya gotta respect that f*cking meathead though"

NO TRUER WORDS WERE EVER SPOKEN.....

I still to this day have a hard time comprehending Winslow Jrs catch against WVU.....Everytime I watch it, I rewind it 20times.....What a waste of talent, and if he's found guilty of his crimes, absolutely nauseating....Athletically in UM History for TEs....KW has absolutely no peers...

Gronk versus Tony Gonzalez or Antonio Gates...

While the latter have better career statistics...with my eyes...neither was even close to as dominant as Gronk was nor were they the mismatch problem Gronk was in that Patriots offense. Gronk at his best is the greatest tight end of all time and its not particularly close, IMO. Great in-line and was a mismatch blocker. Put him in the slot. Flex him out wide and put him on an island against whoever your best is and he'll beat'em. On seamers in the ol' Cover 2 buster...on the island on a slant...finding soft spots in zones. Gronk was as complete a TE as you'll ever see in the game. He was also very fun to watch, played the game right, great personality...he was awesome and the game is worse after his retirement.

With that said, if you are the Patriots, can see you salivating over getting TJ Hockenson from Iowa...not quite Gronk...but in many ways he's Gronk-light.

Winnings Patriots draft if they come out of this draft TJ Hockenson and Andy Isabella. Just print the shirts again.

Alot of Cane fans forget how dominating Winslow was against Ohio St....If Porter doesn't throw the flag...not only does KW have the game winning TD....But in most likelyhood the MVP of game.

Gonzalez prime years were not in this pass happy NFL, no hitting because of CTE era. Look at passing numbers from this year compared to even 10 years ago and it's insane. Look how long Marino's records stood and now there will be plenty of guys blowing his numbers out of the water.

Gronk is great. I would say he's clearly top 3 of all time. First ballot guy. I just think we have to put some of these numbers in perspective.
