Griffin Update

Great steal if he gets in. Love the attitude. He can grow into TE terror we have been missing for years. If he comes in Dec, does that make him can he be EE or would he need to be 2014? Either way, there is a **** of a lot of reinforcements coming in next year. WOW.

For all the Selio drama, 2013 class ended up with a tremendous amount of talent straining on the lease to get on the field. Add this 2014 class and when the 2012 class is seniors, assuming they stay, we are going to have one **** of a football team stocked with NFL players for another run of annual picks. I see a couple more NCs the next 3 or 4 years. Golden and staff is building a monster force 5 in Coral Gables.

The Golden plan for success, being implemented and executed and re-creating the brand at the U.

As exciting as this year's team can be, and this team has promise baby, in three years......oh isht!

And as to this years team, and Golden's plan reaching it's goals (to paraphrase Churchill) It's not the end, it's not even the beginning of the end, but it is the end of the beginning.

Great to be a Miami Hurricane (and I bet it sucks to be a Gator!)

What a tank. Where does Al find these guys at? Never heard of a coach so active on the waiver wire, and the early returns are great. I expect some of out holes next year to be filled with late additions as well, namely experienced depth at FB, OL, DL, and LB

You just out-work everybody else. That's my impression of AG. Plus he's very smart.

How big is he now? Why would he have to move to TE? We have some promising kids who can be superior receiving TEs. No reason WRs have to be small. He could be a monster outside mismatched on CBs.

Griffin is up to 230 according to that story.

Our Mike Evans.

I think that is a good weight for him. Personally, I would rather see him out wide rather than lined up as a TE. I think his athleticism could present mismatches either way though.

Hope he gets his academics in order.

I agree.
Don't know why people just assume he's a tight end because he's 6'5" or taller.
If this kid comes in around 235lbs, with great basketball hands, and a huge vertical, then watch out.
On his basketball tape he looks to get up to almost 12 feet two handed.
If he learns to run sharp routes he will be unstoppable.

I get your point, but people don't assume he's a tight end because he's 6' 5" or taller. He's like 6' 7". Maybe he's the evolution of WRs, but realistically it's extremely difficult to sink your hips at that size/weight. That is what makes your last sentence (learn to run sharp routes) a difficult proposition.

This guy is a tight end.

He can play receiver, but he's 6'6, 230 pounds without trying to gain weight. Jimmy Graham Pt. 2.

We need a true Miami receiving tight end, and Griffin would be just what the doctor ordered.

i think this board is still sleep on pierce, heck for a sec seeing him on the dl with that 81 jersey on game me ryan shazier flashbacks

Just so everyone knows, Griffin is in prep school in GA. All he needs is to take the ACT and he's in. That's pretty much it. He will be ok grades wise.

This might sound like a crazy statement, but he's Jimmy Graham on steroids, at least as a prospect. Jimmy was never a great basketball player and didn't show much coordination in that sport. Griffin has great basketball coordination, to go along with the elite athleticism of a guy like JG.

I hope he gets in obviously. If you watch the highlight of his TD catch in the US Army game in the red zone, that's Jalen Ramsey that he outmuscled and out jumps to make the play. Ramsey was a 5 star recruit for FSU this year and has started both their games as a true freshman. Griffin has unlimited potential as a Wr/Te. I see him as a more athletic Tyler Eifert.

Mike Bakas predicted that he would not be coming....take it fwiw

Pete Ariz needs to use that dope as an example of how not to build his career. The guy's a joke with all his stupid predictions. He knows nothing but continues to guess about where recruits will go and what will happen with guys like Griffin. He should write his little blogs with one of those wizards hats on.

I don't doubt Griffin WAS at prep school, accomadus. But the internet rumor was he had left prep school. Is it confirmed that he is still at prep school now and on track to pass admissions and the clearinghouse?

He says he is training in Stafford. Is there a Stafford in Georgia because there is one in Texas.

I love the fact that he is laying low. That is a GREAT sign. Doesnt want anybody bothering him or calling him. That means he is really locked in on the books and being here in Dec. We get him, Stuckley and Bond here in Dec and that changes the dynamic of this incoming class.

BTW, people keep saying Stuckley will start out at TE. I dont see Al putting Griffin and Stuckley at TE. Seems likes Stuckley is just an athlete and we need to figure out where to put a specimen like that.

Lockley*

I want him at TE/H-Back. Freak athlete, different type of receiving option than Griffin
