Gotta think this is curtains for the entire defensive staff

Patke, Rumph and Baker need to go. Bring me T-Rob...and ****, I’d take Muschamp as a DC if he takes it. That said, we need a high level 1M+ DC.
New personnel is fine, but the scheme is the main issue, so if Diaz doesn’t take a step back and let the DC do their own thing....then it won’t matter.

If Miami was serious about its football program, then allowing 800 yards against a conference rival in a game that could have landed them in the orange bowl would be unacceptable and heads would be rolling.

But Miami is not serious, and nothing will happen.
I couldn't agree more. We're content with Lispy handing out participation trophies and juice boxes after the game.

Well if everybody thinks most of dline is going to the draft meaning 3 Defensive ends and ive even seen some talk of nesta then stroud has to get some credit
And this is the crux of the problem. The very second guys start to get it and start making plays against average to bad teams they think that they have arrived and NFL ready. It's impossible to develop players here because no one ever stays long enough to be developed. It's a phucking joke. Not one guy on this squad outside of Jordan should even be thinking about the NFL.

Baker gotta go and Rumph

I’d give Manny one year to call his defense on his own to see if there’s improvement. On one condition - he spends the money on a top flight CB coach
So you think Manny could have stopped UNC’s prolific running game?? Pretty sure he would have started calling the defense if he felt it would have helped. The other point is, THIS IS MANNY’S DEFENSE!! Remind me again why Mandy was fired at Texas?

We will find out soon if Ed Reed has any power to force the defensive changes that are needed. Manny can't justify this game. Lack of effort, no wrapping up on tackles, just a crap performance on that side of the ball. We were lined up wrong numerous times during the game and UNC just ran to the weak side of where we were stacked. The lack of effort was obvious on offense and defense. UNC wanted a good bowl game. Our players just want the season to end. And they will get exactly what they wanted when the bowls pick worthy teams. We won't be one of them.
Ed Reed can’t fire anybody. We know this.

Someone needs to get a highlight of our bad LB play and dissect a few plays. I want to see where our LBs get swallowed up on.
The lb coaching is lacking sooo badly. I don’t know if anyone remembers but Michael Barrow had video tutorials showing how to get off blocks. It featured Sean Spence in the videos. The linebackers here now don’t know how to get off blocks.

It's not even about scheme. Scheme is a general outline. Our problem on defense is that we don't scheme for different teams. We basically run the same **** week in week out and on top of that we don't adjust well during the game. The coaching is abysmal.
So it's about scheme or it isn't about scheme? I'm confused by your reply. If Manny was competent at all, the emphasis of the defense would have been to mimic Notre Dame for stopping the run. #53 and #44 wouldn't be starting either. Steed and Flagg should have been the starters. I don't know if they came in because I turned that **** off before halftime.

This coach at UNC dumped Manny when he gave up 500 yards rushing in a game. I think he knows the key to busting Manny’s scheme. There must a deep flaw in Manny’s philosophy and Mack Brown has just written a book on how to defeat it. Everybody will copy it and Manny will have more and more trouble defeating good teams.

I just don’t know if Manny can turn this around. He would have to hire a top flight DC and turn it all over to him. I also think our talent is not good enough. That could change but I worry about our recruiting after this debacle.

Same with DBs. And why did the RBs have such big lanes?

Yeah, phucc dat! Changes gotta be made. Now! I saw a lot of scheme issues today. I’m just a High School coach, so if I can see it, I know **** well college coaches can see it. We never adjusted to the counter. We kept going inside of their pulling OL and getting “pinned”, therefore giving their backs the edge and when that happens, it forces the WORST position group on the field, (LBs) to make harder plays. We asking our worst position group to have to cover more ground in order to make plays. Are u serious?! DBs taking bad angles. We were givin up long runs on like 3rd and 12. TF?! Nah, I’ve seen enough of the Diaz/Baker **** show Defensive scheme. Bring in someone that knows what the **** they looking at.
We got manhandled by an OL coached by a man that most people here thought was garbage.

By the coach who destroyed him today.

Best thing that Manny can do is do what he did on the offensive side of the ball.

Hire someone that runs the show and picks his assistants. Cause Mannys defense isnt cutting it against top competition.

If he is too stubborn to do that, he will be fired next season for sure. Because this team on defense cant improve.

flagg played a ton the entire game and had zero tackles. swallowed up or ran himself out of the play on every single snap i saw him in , which was plenty. the worst of the worst unit in this miserable game.

The DL just stunts just to stunt and take themselves out of the play

LBs then gotta shed blocks and can’t. And they have the worst angles cause of their alignment.

And the , we demand a S like Carter be able to cover the deep center half, but also run support. He’s constantly in conflict. It’s time we hire a real DC. There’s a reason why in 5 years, we have ZERO impact NFL players on defense.

I was saying this from day one that it seems like our coaches are always out coached. They go after our weakness and expose it, on the other hand Diaz and crew never seem to attack the opponent’s weaknesses.

Time after time announcers calling our games would point out guys thats we are playing against been torched by lesser opponents before us and made them pay by game planning and scheming to take advantage of their weaknesses. But we let them off the hook by not even focusing on them.

We line up and run the same thing for every team we play. OF and DF no game planning for the opponents. Lazy way of coaching.

Right now my gut tells Manny is going to fall on the same sword that ended Richt. Richt's pride wouldn't let him to ****-can his vastly unqualified son nor bring in someone else to run the offense. When the outside noise got too loud, he decided to retire rather than fire any of his boys or change up the offensive scheme.

This is Manny's D and his boys running it. For as smart and analytical as some claim him to be, I don't think his pride will allow him to admit that his D will never win championship football games, and he'd rather go down with the boat than turn the wheel over to someone else.

Now, if he does happen to clean house, what legitimate DC's out there would be willing to come work for him, and how much would it cost?
