GOOD COACHING DECISIONS By Richt .... Please Give an Example of One.

the best decision he ever made was signing the contract and donating a million for tax purposes
that one million is awesome return on investments
another good decision is making his wife a hydration specialist
he has set himself and his family up for many generations to come
solid decision making by CMR

In last year's Natl Champ game, changing his QB at halftime was an example of a great coaching decision by Saban and Bama won.

This was only a good decision cause it worked and they won, if they would've lost people would've said that's so stupid you put a freshman in the champ game blah blah blah

Saban wasn't going to beat UGA last year with Hurts. Everyone who had a modicum of common sense knew it.

Please give an example of even ONE good coaching decision made by Mork Richt in his entire coaching career. Or has he skated along and won games just by having good talent.

I’m also pretty confident not many/any of us even paid that close of attention at his 15 years at Georgia, so I think it should be based from his 3 years here

Hows dem special teams doe?

We have savage TEs and if we had a different coach they wouldn’t have come, so we can be a holes and bring up what he’s not doing well (which obviously a real ST coach would be better) but don’t ignore stuff he’s done ABOVE exceptional and this also includes pretty much every player from Jax.

I’m guessing you’d be the same individual complaining about not getting Jordan and Mallory

If he didn’t sign those 2 guys I’d say keeping Hartley isn’t a win, he’s not good as ST coach but the guy had a better offer and more money from a SEC powerhouse and stayed so that is a Richt win

there is some serious smoke blowing around that Mallory is seriously thinking about transferring.

So all of a sudden in the 2nd half a light went off in Saban's head and said I can win this thing if I bench Hurts. He was 12-1 as the starter
17TD's - 1INT, and avg a Whopping 150 yds passing per game.
It's called Desperation, at that point he had nothing to lose

A decision is always qualified by the results. Saban made the right decision and that's the point. Bama won.

A coach that has won SIX National Championships had to make a lot of good decisions to accomplish that.

Real Miami fans want more National Championships and we need a coach that can make great decisions to get us there.

The point of this thread is do we have a coach that can make good decisions or not ? A good decision once in a while won't result in National Championships. Only morons would try to debate that fact.

And why did he wait until the national championship game to make the move? I mean, Tua is clearly head and shoulders better than Hurts or any other QB Bama has had under Saban. Why did it take him 12 1/2 games to pull the trigger on what should have been an obvious move? It's because coaches, even good ones are often stubborn and overly conservative. It's often not the best player getting the snaps but the one the coach feels more comfortable with.
because at that point he had nothing to lose ....GA was outplaying them badly

His pops is a coach at the highest level and has seen guys like Sean Payton, and now Tom Coughlin up close.

He knows a clown show when he sees one.

We had dreams of two TE sets. Now? We realize our offensive staff doesnt have the capacity for such wrinkles.

Hurts wasn't able to do anything against UGA's defense in the first half. Anyone could see that. Saban made a change and it worked out.

Had Saban NOT made the change and they lose the game, Bama fans would've gotten on Saban for not playing the #1 DT QB that he had sitting on the bench. It worked out for Saban because he got Tua snaps in as many games as he could throughout the year so he was at least somewhat prepared; as opposed to playing rarely if at all than throwing him to the wolves.

Noticed the trend?

How about the 2 minute drill at the end of the FSU game last year with the deep ball to Langham?

Butch Davis Head Coach record: 77–50

Mark Richt Head Coach record: 169-61
Butch Davis Coached players = 27 1st rounders & 4 soon to be HOFers
Mark Richt Coached players =11 1st rounders & No HOFers (in double the time)..............NEXT.......

Nah, they weren't winning that game without Tua. They couldn't move the ball because the other kid couldn't throw. Sound familiar?

If going to Tua was the obvious decision because they couldn't move the ball with Hurts, Hurts wouldn't have been the QB for 13 games.

Hiring this guy:

Yeah, coaches are judged on winning and losing. The fact that Butch has a worse record with better players isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
