Golden Wins Out and I will eat Crow

Yeah, that's the standard. Win the sec west. Your hero golden can't win the acc coastal.

Or should we lower the bar? (Cue a whole bunch of excuses)

Miami did win the ACC Coastal in 2012 under Golden. We sacrificed attending the ACC Championship to appease the NCAA. Nice try, though.

And I'd still rather have this 2014 team than the 2012 team, whether or not Duke wins out and takes the coastal, because I'm not short-sighted as ****.

North Carolina won the 2012 coastal outright. NEXT

http://espn.go.com/college-football/conferences/standings/_/id/1/year/2012/acc-conference

It was a split and they were actually barred from participating in the ACC Championship. We gave up our RIGHT to participate. NEXT.

Your argument is built on ignoring facts and parsing the definition of non-action verbs. I mean, I understand this is an anonymous message board, but at some point you have to look inwards when the actual facts become overwhelming, right?

LMAO! I'm discussing reality here. Your entire philosophy is based on ignoring the fact that the Miami Hurricanes have improved every year since the 2012 freshman class hit the field. You can't point to one position that has downgraded or one statistic that has gotten worse. And that's through an NCAA stranglehold on the program that you also choose to ignore.

If Golden wins out, I'll eat an actual crow. I'd be ****ing surprised that he adjusted *that* much. And, that's knowing things have legitimately changed internally within the last month.

If we beat Florida State, it's more than just "adjustments." Golden will literally be thought of in the same vein as the top coaches in college ball if we can make that happen 12 months after the NCAA ended their stranglehold on our program.

I just don't think we're on that level talent-wise; we have a makeshift offensive line, a freshman quarterback, a defensive line with mostly first year talent, etc.

Vomit.

Dealing with a cloud guy.

He should've been winning DURING THE CLOUD.

The cloud is made out to be some ******* crippling disease with some of you. Were our players weakened due to the cloud against Vtech and Duke last year? Or was it that our coaches were so ******* arrogant and up their own *** that they refused to tailor their scheme to the players we had.

That, "stranglehold," was not responsible for subpar coaching. It was responsible for disappointing recruiting classes that weren't all that disappointing.

We have not won the Coastal. UNC won it in 2012. If the criteria for winning the division is having the best record with eligible players, than that would be UNC. And if you want to consider us winners by a technicality, that's a shame.

Because I don't feel the need to debate your straw man argument, I'm not going to do much research and just go with what I already know.

Allen Hurns had 1,162 receiving yards last year. There is definitely no improvement at the WR position statistically. Please, don't make me look up the numbers, just do your own research to debunk your own argument. And keep 6-3(3-2) in your mind as well.

Beat FSU and we'll talk.

Turn off the Billy Corben documentaries for a second and really think about the fact that we had a free safety at running back, a project at QB who wasn't half as good as our current TRUE FRESHMAN is through 9 games, a UVA Hoo REJECT at defensive tackle, a defensive end with no knee cartilage as our defensive CAPTAIN and countless other problems and then maybe you'll realize that having the U on the side of our helmet doesn't mean it's 2001 every year.

What is golden if he beats FSU? 20-19 against ACC opponents?

Golden with a win against FSU still deserves to be nowhere near the vicinity the words top tier coaches.

:stephenahand:

No trust me, I know what you said. In the same vein or in the same category of top tier coaches, golden has no business in being in either of those statements.

But you go ahead and keep ignoring my other sentence in that post and four years of complete underperforming teams and hail Golden after one win.

GTFOH with this isn't 2001. No **** Sherlock.

While a UVA reject was starting at d tackle, Luther Robinson, who is niw playing regularly for the St. Louis rams was warming that bench just right due to Golden's adept coaching. Who knows if RW isn't another Luther Robinson on offense.

Sharon Greene? Why did he play so much? AQM and MCCord are much better options.

Worst vtech team in 20 years and golden couldn't beat them at home. Built a 14 point lead on Duke and end up losing by 17+.

Really? Which team underperformed? Which one?

The 7 win 2012 team that had two draft picks in the 5th and 6th round?

Or the 9 win 2013 team that had three draft picks in the 3rd, 6th and 7th round? And also Allen Hurns who should've been drafted in the 4th or 5th round.

If you think Luther Robinson was warming the bench, you didn't watch the games. Robinson played plenty last year, as did AQM and McCord. Just because Robinson has made TWO TACKLES this season for Green Bay (not the Rams) doesn't mean he was the key piece to making our 2013 defense not suck ***.

Wow. Can't believe that is even a question.

The 6 win team in 2011 played a whole lot of close games. So many that based off everything we've seen from Golden then to now tells me a real coach would've flipped some of those L's to W's.

How about 2012? UVA game comes to mind. Are you gonna buy the too young excuse after everything you've seen from Golden?

2013 was a complete catastrophe of a season based on how we ended. So yes, plenty of underperforming.

20-19 in the ACC... THE ACC!!!!! Isn't underperforming to you? Let's give golden another extension.

What? The 2012 team got BLOWN OUT in 3 out of their 5 losses. That team struggled to put away Bethune Cookman. The 2012 team had a lot of talented freshman and sophomores, but it was not a good team and it had many more close WINS than close LOSSES.

The 20-19 stat is also wrong, as is most of what you type.

I find it hard to believe you watch the games, to be honest, so I'm going to stop debating this.

Not one of these swallowing haters have yet to show one bit of proof to back up their make believe theory that Golden is in trouble. Not one link. These so called message board gurus with thousands of post bring zero proof Al is in trouble. The school has not said this, have they? The media offers no proof, the President of the school has said no such thing so the one thing factual is you boys live in your own make believe world. Here is a fact Al is loved by the people who count. The people who extended his contract have not said one negative word that you fairy tell losers can provide a link to show proof of your arguments. Again someone stand up and prove Golden is on the outs. Here is the swallowers argument, I heard this from such and such, Jimbob told me this, I have an inside source but nothing of substance i can prove. You boys are parrots who mimic each other and nothing more. Again, just one of you losers step up with proof.

Come on. Gus Malayan took a 3 win team in shambles to the ship in one summer with all the probs you're listing for golden. There is enough top tier talent to win. Golden needs to win or Gtfoh. NO EXCUSES

Who?

My ipad auto corrected his name. Way to be a jackazz though.

So you have nothing that backs up your argument do you swallower? You haters sure do bring up a lot of *** lingo, what a surprise.

So that's the standard? Because if I remember correctly, Auburn was a once in a lifetime Cinderella team that needed a Hail Mary and a field goal return to win their division.

P.S. I don't recall them having an offensive line in shambles and a defensive line with little upperclassmen talent, but fine.

P.P.S. I said, if we pulled that off, Golden would be considered in the same vein as top tier coaches, which I believe Malzahn to be.

Once in a lifetime cindrella team that just so happens to be winning again this year after losing a bunch of good players. gtfoh. gus malzahn is one of the best coaches in the nation and he proved it.

auburn was a 3 win team that didn't win one game in the sec the year before with plenty of depth problems an offensive line no one knew anything about and a defensive line with freshman and sophmores starting.

They didn't even have a **** qb. Its no cinderella story. its called coming to a program and putting your players in the best position to succeed and NOT FORCING YOUR CRAP SCHEME ON TO THE PLAYERS, thats the **** standard..

Gus just gets it.

Do we need proof that he's on the hot seat? What bearing does that have on wether or not he should get fired.

I think his overall head coaching record at miami is enough proof 28-18(16-13). If you want a letter from Blake James signed and authenticated it's not going to happen, ever, until the day he's actually fired. It's the administrations job to support the coaches, a la UF and Muschamp(who is clearly a dead man walking). http://m.espn.go.com/ncf/story?storyId=11735187&src=desktop
