Remember how many teams wanted Larry Coker and Randy Shannon?

Uh, yeah, exactly

All of the talk about these schools wanting Golden make me more of a believer in Golden than before...he's a wanted commodity, for sure...

There might be a time though, when we may have to pony up more cash for ol boy...if he sees continued success, someone might be willing to plop down a nice sized chunk of change for him to move...

That was after playing for 2 NCs, winning 1, and producing a ridiculous amount of NFL talent.
Golden is getting looks from other schools after a 7-5 season.

We're on our way back with this man.

Sad state we are in where we are worried about losing a coach to Wisconsion. It was one thing when are coaches left for the NFL, but we aren't even considered above Wisky anymore. We really need to make a BCS bowl next year to get some positive momentum.

Stupid. If we aren't considered above Wisconsin, why isn't Al Golden on his way to a new job in Madison?

The fact that media sources are suggesting it as a possibility means that to some people (at least) we are not above them. Obviously Golden thinks differently, but seriously, can you say that Miami has been a better program than Wisconsin over the last 5 years?

Wisconsin has had a better record, but so have a lot of programs. A better record over a 5 year period doesn't make you the better program/job. UM will ALWAYS be the better job than Wisconsin.

Always

It's like people saying our previous two AD's went to programs that were "upgrades".

Nebraska perhaps you can make a SLIM....wait no you can't. It's fuggin NEBRASKA.

Texas Tech an upgrade? Tommy Tubberville left there faster than the residents around that comprised reactor post tsunami in Japan. Suck it Kirby!

Dead, I am pretty sure K9 was agreeing with Larry by saying that no one wanted Coker or Shannon.

Our fanbase has been suffering from Stockholm Syndrome for a few years now. The fans, for the most part, are beat down mopes. Al will wipe that mopery out of the program and restore UM to its rightful place.

We need [Sarcasm] tags. Some people didn't get it.

they're upgrades when, as an athletic director, you want to focus more on actually running a good amount of programs instead of having to worry about football's lack of attendance affecting the other sports. football and basketball are the two sports that drive the rest of our athletic department and, because our fanbase is so fickle, the funds aren't there to advance the rest of the sports. texas tech, even if they lack our on-field success in football, could be considered a lateral move based on the name (if you don't consider the salary and how much more money/programs they have). nebraska is an upgrade in every aspect, starting with the fact that they've sold out their stadium for 50 straight years. also, not everyone enjoys living in miami.

That's what a winky face is for ;)

It's good that our coach is coveted, but I'm disgusted that programs like Wisconsin and Boston ******* College think they can steal our coach. Just goes to show you how far we'd fallen off.

It's time to slay all these cornball teams and win 10 games.
