Gayle Sayers should get a mention, if not for crap team and injuries would be somewhere near the top. 6 all purpose touchdowns in one game...
"Sayers was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977 at age 34, and remains the youngest person to receive the honor. He was named to the NFL's 75th Anniversary Team as a halfback and kick returner, the only player to occupy two positions on the team."
Of the guys I saw and can vividly remember:
- Eric ****erson (Just go watch the film)
- OJ Simpson (Miami's got oranges, but Buffalo's got the juice)
- Barry Sanders
- Emmitt Smith
- Walter Payton
- Marcus Allen
- LaDanian Tomlinson
- Edgerrine James
- Frank Gore
- Curtis Martin
- Tony Dorsett
- Earl Campbell
- John Riggins
- William Andrews
- Chuck Muncie
- Billy Sims
- Terry Metcalf
- Lydell Mitchell
- Larry Czonka
- Mercury Morris
Finally somebody mentioned ****ersonEmmitt Smith is not the GOAT, no.
Definitely a Top 10 RB, Gator hatred aside. Possibly Top 5.
1.) Jim Brown
2.) Barry Sanders
3.) Walter Payton
4.) Earl Campbell
5.) Eric ****erson
6.) Emmitt Smith
7.) John Riggins
8.) Marshall Faulk
9.) Marion Motley
10.) Bronco Nagurski
Honorable Mention: Larry Csonka.
We kinda clown OJ and erase him from the record books for obvious reasons, but he's a Top 10 all time back imo.OJ ran for 2000 in 14 games I put OJ first
Eric ****erson second Barry third Walter forth
Emmith fifth.
Walter Payton was the GOAT. Played his whole career behind crap lines, with no talent around him on offense. First time he ever ran behind an all pro OL was his last season. In addition to being the all time leading rusher at the time he retired, he was also the all time leading receiver out of the backfield when he retired. He was also an amazing blocker, the Bears third string QB and back-up punter. Simple the goat football player.
No Marshall Faulk???
This isn't quite true.
Jimbo Covert was an all-pro more than a couple years. And Hilgenburg was an all-pro many years, too. And he's been a nominee for the HOF.
Not sure about the rest.
I said ****erson was in my top 5Finally somebody mentioned ****erson
And better as a receiver then 100% of the backs too. Linebackers had no chanceExactly. These are delusional af. They arent judging a Rb properly. No one has mentioned faulk whose better than 98% of backs being named/listed.
