Very true. Orgeron is an animal and might be the best recruiter in the game. They probably laid down the law to Logan "you visit Miami you better be sure you want to go there because we're moving on if you visit".
Sad thing is LSU hasn't won **** in several years and is on the verge of getting its HC fired. But they're still playing the recruiting game at a much higher level than we are.
Exactly this. Yachtloads of denial floating up and down these threads of late.
I understand the denial game. It softens the harshness of reality when you stand on a soapbox and yell "everything's great! Stop overreacting! We can't judge anything till next year!". We've been down this road too many times and I'm too work-hardened for me to buy in though. Show me. Quit trying to explain everything away.
Miami might have reached the point of irrelevance from so many years straight of being garbage that the only way to re-establish our program is through on field results. The kids we're recruiting have never watched a good Miami football team in their lives.
This is why it's imperative for Richt to get out there and have a great first year on the field. Need to win the Coastal and at least 10 games to show recruits that this is an awakening giant. It's been asleep longer than Gus Felder. The only way back on a national level is by winning games and becoming relevant. You can only build so much excitement with 13 years of talk.
We cannot prevent Latrell Williams from visiting Tenn a week after he committed, but LSU prevents Logan from visiting a school that LSU people were saying he may flip to. This is not a Richt issue in my opinion, it is just how far we have fallen over the last decade. We need a 10 win season this yr with a legit "big win". Beat ND or FSU and we can finally start pulling legit talent and hold onto guys that would love to come to Miami if we were relevant again.
Richt is hustling, but he's selling a used beat up product right now. You can be the best salesman in the world, but if your product is garbage and all you can sell is hope and dreams you're likely going to lose out most of the time to guys who are selling reality.
It's fck time. Richt needs to prep his pin and fck the Coastal until it loves him.
If he pulls any more prime prospects this class it'll be a small miracle. With the possible exception of Richards, who was already committed to UM during our darkest days, I'm expecting the rest of the class to be guys dropped by other marquee programs or guys we beat other **** programs like Pitt or Minnesota for.
