How can you not even take a free trip
To MIAMI? These SEC bagmen pay kids to not tske visits so wouldn't surprise me.

Here's 10 grand to not even visit.

It's so obvious seriously why wouldn't a kid tske a free visit?

If I had a free trip to MIAMI the only way I wouldn't tske it is if you paid me not to.

Bama, LSU, Clemson, etc. have the power to tell a recruit "If you take that trip, we're dropping your scholly". LSU's staff did visit him yesterday and probably $olidified his commitment.

Lsu probably threatened to pull his scholly if he came here when they talked to him last night.

Doesn't need the money his brother is a starting dt in the nfl.

LSU's just better at this game than we are. We got Byrd, Richards, Bruce ****in' around with us and they lock down guys who are supposedly about to flip from even visiting elsewhere.
Very true. Orgeron is an animal and might be the best recruiter in the game. They probably laid down the law to Logan "you visit Miami you better be sure you want to go there because we're moving on if you visit".

Sad thing is LSU hasn't won **** in several years and is on the verge of getting its HC fired. But they're still playing the recruiting game at a much higher level than we are.

Exactly this. Yachtloads of denial floating up and down these threads of late.
I understand the denial game. It softens the harshness of reality when you stand on a soapbox and yell "everything's great! Stop overreacting! We can't judge anything till next year!". We've been down this road too many times and I'm too work-hardened for me to buy in though. Show me. Quit trying to explain everything away.

Miami might have reached the point of irrelevance from so many years straight of being garbage that the only way to re-establish our program is through on field results. The kids we're recruiting have never watched a good Miami football team in their lives.

This is why it's imperative for Richt to get out there and have a great first year on the field. Need to win the Coastal and at least 10 games to show recruits that this is an awakening giant. It's been asleep longer than Gus Felder. The only way back on a national level is by winning games and becoming relevant. You can only build so much excitement with 13 years of talk.

LSU almost certainly threatened to pull the scholarship and that makes sense - they've got the leverage and they don't need to ***** around waiting on him to signing day. Probably realized they are basically full at the position and are pretty much hanging onto this guy as a courtesy since he's been committed and if he's visiting they're taking that scholarship and looking to fill other positions. Like Chives said, they are playing hardball and simply recruiting at a higher level right now. They have more leverage in this particular situation so they're using it. Hopefully we'll be in a similar situation soon enough but being irrelevant and not winning bowl games for a decade+ has that effect.

Agree on the imperative, and the need to drum up belief. That very heritage of irrelevance is why I don't believe in these hype stories. With the elite guys it's just too late in the game right now. It's not fun to say, it's not exciting. But it's what I believe: we have a Miami problem. We need a serious external rehab.

This isn't on Richt. Not this year. You can squeal and squirm but the ceiling for this class was probably in place prior to anyone taking the job. Winning is all that will change that. Winning, winning and winning. And some cash. And winning.

We cannot prevent Latrell Williams from visiting Tenn a week after he committed, but LSU prevents Logan from visiting a school that LSU people were saying he may flip to. This is not a Richt issue in my opinion, it is just how far we have fallen over the last decade. We need a 10 win season this yr with a legit "big win". Beat ND or FSU and we can finally start pulling legit talent and hold onto guys that would love to come to Miami if we were relevant again.

It's just leverage - play hardball with Latrell Williams, who we only started recruiting a couple weeks ago, and it backfires then where are we? The same place we were when Golden stupidly did that with Amari Cooper.

If Richards, Bruce, Mullins were EE signed and on campus and we had 1 spot left at WR then sure, play hardball all day. But with only 5 scholarship WRs enrolled, 1 commit with questionable grades and 1 getting jerked off on the reg by Urban Meyer it's probably not the right time to go hard at a guy who seems like a pretty strong commit.

I'm just ready to sign who we sign and turn the page to 2017.. A new start will be refreshing.

Tried to tell you guys, Logan's mother never really pushed him to UM, that report was incorrect, it was she pushed him to stay put at LSU. They also lead for Christmas Giles but he is no guaranteed lock. If LSU wants Taylor then we get Logan, I would still stay in the kids ear, anything can happen in recruiting.

Richt is hustling, but he's selling a used beat up product right now. You can be the best salesman in the world, but if your product is garbage and all you can sell is hope and dreams you're likely going to lose out most of the time to guys who are selling reality.

It's fck time. Richt needs to prep his pin and fck the Coastal until it loves him.

If he pulls any more prime prospects this class it'll be a small miracle. With the possible exception of Richards, who was already committed to UM during our darkest days, I'm expecting the rest of the class to be guys dropped by other marquee programs or guys we beat other **** programs like Pitt or Minnesota for.

Why is this hard to understand?

It is called being realistic based off experience and the current state of recruiting and the program.

I think you're in denial of the bag man's existence.

You seem like a Cornelius Fudge type

I Love how LSU is locking their state down. Idc if they are the only major program, it's still impressive.
