Give me our chances vs UF

We are favored, depending in the site, anywhere between 2.5 to 3 points. Taking into account the home field advantage, Canes would be favored anywhere from 5.5 to 6 points if the game were played in Miami or a true neutral field. I know that is very simplistic read of home field.advantage, but the money believes Miami is better.

The issue is that it's the first game of the season. Neither team will have a practice game against lower competition to work out kinks, etc. We know Mario's issues, but I'm nit going to over blow them as well. He was able to go win at OSU, he should be able to win in Gainesville. Upsets, especially early season ones,.revolve around turnovers. Don't turn the ball over. Florida will force Miami to pass and get away from the run, so Cam needs to be on point. I would also lime to see motion and have Cam roll out, giving him the ability to run if necessary or find open receivers. Best case scenario is we go up early.

Quick analysis: Thier qb is returning, even though their secondary was bad last year, it’s hard to believe they won’t improve, their best linebacker was a freshman, Dline is good their strength is their tackles, offensive line wasn’t good last year, but return a couple starters along with some transfers. They do have a couple play makers at wr.

QB:Miami
RB:Miami
TE: Even
WR: Miami
OL: Miami
DE:Miami
DT:Florida
LB:Miami
Corner: Florida
Safety: Florida

I think we have a pretty good enough advantage to overcome the home field advantage and win in the swamp.

Can't sleep on Miami's depth advantage at most positions (I would imagine Miami's is worse at secondary and possibly DT but better everywhere else). It will be hot, first game, etc. Both teams will have to rotate a bunch.

We win that game if we don’t get sacked 9x.

Sure but that’s kinda the name of the game. They had Jon Greenard going against 250lb freshmen tackles.

The postgame win expectancy for the gator was absurdly high. They dominated that game, but much like my concerns with this one, they had 4 turnovers, and they were mostly unforced.

What’s funny is with them really winning that game handily AND the sacks…..if Jeff Thomas literally just catches a punt, we win.

Again, mistakes will be made. It’s college football and it’s game 1. We will make some, they will make some. But how ridiculous and egregious are they? Do we just forget to cover someone and they get a walk in 60 yard TD? Do we have issues with the noise and fumble snaps? Do we forget to block someone and they block a punt? Just look prepared, competent, and semi-well coached. All I ask for. If that happens, we roll.
