Get used to it

Nope. Not going there. The original porster explicitly and admittedly ignored Barkate's production at ACC Champion Duke and formed some half-baked hypothesis on Barkate's abilities based, in all likelihood, on Barkate's skin tone. Not to mention the fact that spring games are "underwear Olympics" for the most part, so I'm not going to allow the 2-hour scrimmage to be the OP's "come-to-Jesus" revelation moment. There was ample evidence throughout the spring (and prior years) that Barkate was **** good, but the OP never took back his original post until it really didn't matter any longer. He even did the "I won't root for injury, but I'm rooting for injury" nonsense. In the rhetoric of the Roman Republic, this type of comment was called "litotes".

I’ve seen some of your posts in that mega conference thread - you should hold yourself to the same standard.

I love ya man but but but…

1. He poRsted that thing a month ago and there was nothing going on to change anything until the spring game. Barkate had a great game and the poster owned up entirely. I think that’s reasonable. Owning up and being able to admit a mistake is an admirable trait. Not everyone can be right all the time save a few I suppose. There’s people on here who go back and delete their incorrect predictions and bad takes after the fact. He didn’t do anything like that. He said I can feel free to delete the whole thread essentially.

2. He didn’t change his initial post or try to cover his mistake, he simply added the edit separately with a date owning up to it.

This is what I would call fully open disclosure.

He should get a pat on the back and a cookie for his humility and honest and contrite approach.
We all drink and post. It happens

I agree with u.

There is in fact a segment of this fanbase that holds a racial bias. At a minimum they are either questioning whether MIA can have an elite skill possession player that is White, or if a Black QB can win a NC @ MIA. Possessing a racial bias in the realm of sports, makes even less sense, because it is as close to a true meritocracy as we have in this society. Talent more or less tends to rise to the top, & it is extremely difficult to suppress a player's abilities; even more so when you're talking about high stakes, cutthroat, win at all costs, marquee sports, that are also multibillion-dollar industries.

I wrote a few months ago, after Barkate transferred to MIA, that he immediately becomes one of the most fundamentally sound WRs this program has had in over 2 decades. Besides being fundamentally sound, he also possesses the requisite athleticism to run a large % of the route tree, & elite intangibles that will ensure he maintains a professional approach to the game. He's an NFL WR any way u slice it, & is going to get drafted, & play in the league for a minimum of 5 seasons.

Then he can go earn it. Nowhere did i say he can't be a good player. Stop hyping this player until he actually does something in a real game. Seems like a reasonable request.
Obviously. No one said that he didn’t have to earn his reps. Everyone has to. Thing is, he earned them last offseason before getting hurt. NO ONE is hyping him up anymore, all because of an injury he sustained that sidelined him. Now everyone is saying he’s trash and all hype and how he’s a Greentree all American. All I’m saying is that there’s a reason why he’s still here. Staff didn’t even let him ENTER the portal! Let it play out before saying he’s 5th back at worst smh

Lol not trying to shoot at TOC . He’s right like no_fly is right that the poster in question poRsted what I’d call an ***-biter- just not a good post given the success Mensah and Barkate have had together. But he owned up to it after the spring game. He didn’t try to back track, move goalposts, do all kinds of things I see happening all over the board. He was humble about it. So we just keep kicking him? Ya know like none of us ever whiffed? I said before the season that Mario was overrated on the OL and I hadn’t seen elite development by him. Then we go to the natty and he makes Markell bell serviceable. I had to eat that and more before this.

I don’t see what the big deal is about being wrong and owning up to it. And I don’t see why anyone would continue to drag someone who wasn’t a jerk and owned up to it. If someone does that I hope their posting history is infallible perfection. I know mine isn’t.

That back shoulder Mendoza kept throwing to Sarratt. I have nightmares about it. You cannot defend chemistry.

I think these two are going to give a lot of people nightmares this year.
Toney is going to get fewer targets, but will have so much more room to work when he is.
