His eyes are set so close together it doesn’t look like he would have any peripheral vision. Kind of looks like a depiction of Cro-Magnon I saw in Nat Geo.

Shockey may or may not have said it to Spurmier, but Shockey's statement about UiF getting their asses kicked on and off the field is 100% valid.

Whether Spurrier said it or not, Najeh Davenport laid the smackdown on a Gator the night before. The scoreboard shows whose *** got kicked on the field.

Honestly, it sounds like something a frustrated Spurrier would've absolutely said in the moment after his team got handled.

Also makes complete sense why he'd push back from the comment years later—as it looks weak to say that to an arch rival in that moment—but Miami worked Florida silly in their first match-up in 13 years and Spurrier wanted that win.

Why would Jeremy Shockey say this if it didn't happen?

There's absolutely zero reason or incentive to make that up—and if you do make something up, it's more than a comment like this from a head coach. Where and why would Shockey pull this out of the ether and make it a "thing"?

Miami won the fight the night before and won the game, 37-20—and anyone who knows Steve Superior and his mouth, his quotes, his quick wit and how he reacts when frustrated; it's the kind of comment he would absolutely forget, while a college junior hears that and has probably repeated that story over 200 times the past 26 years.

Nothing better than spending $1000 per night at a Holiday Inn Express and then getting to choose which fast casual franchise you want to dine at. Gainesville and Tallahassee used to just be trashy, but now they're also unaffordable.
