Thanks for the catch up

What do you think the odds are that he bolts for one of those two teams or any team actually?
I think he probably stays. When he got his second raise last year, they restructured the buyout clause so that it is much, much lower (something like 5x lower if IIRC) if he leaves for an NBA team v. a college team. That is telling.

Also, he's shown he can win a championship at UF. If he can get a THIRD raise in THREE years where he is, why not stay until the NBA comes calling?

I think he will leave. Clearly, there are plenty of hot young chicks at UNC and Kansas who don't already know his modus operandi, so those are fertile hunting grounds for an undeniable hunk of man-meat like Todd Golden.

Predators gotta predate...

Here it is. The lengthy (and frothy) article that confirms all the things that you suspected about DJ Lagway, but could never fully articulate.

Never went to class. Isolated himself from his WRs at a Tyler-Van-Dyke level. Knew he was too hurt to play his freshman season. Collaborated with Slingblade Billy to lie to the world about his recovery time from FOUR injuries.

Oh, by the way, did you know that VENTURA is a swanky town north of Miami?

I know this is tongue-in-cheek, but I’ll play along…

Why does he need to leave when UF has proven they will spend whatever it takes and pay off The Alligator to gaslight their fanbase into believing he’s the victim?

Please. This was not exclusive to Lagway. Most kids do online there for their requirements. Even my friends that went to UF when we were freshmen in the 90s didn’t have classes in actual classrooms. They watched the teacher give the lecture on TV.

UF even has a program where they admit a portion of students online only for their first few semesters, and then allow them to move to Gainesville.

I'm not talking about one or two of his classes. It was ALL of them, for two full years.

And THAT is a bit extreme.

When I was doing my LL.M. at Florida, there was an undergrad Business Law professor who used to broadcast his classes on the local cable access channel (you could go to the live class OR the TV broadcast). He would dress up in all kinds of wacky costumes to dramatize his lectures and hold the attention of the students.

My niece is at UF now, and I know a bunch of her friends. It is NOT the normal UF experience to do two full years of coursework remotely, and if that is the future, they just need to change the name to Santa Fe Senior High School right now.

“The PaCE program offers an excellent academic experience, combining online and campus-based learning. Students selected for PaCE will complete a minimum 15 credit hours and two semesters through UF Online. After completing a total of 60 credit hours and all major prerequisite requirements for the major, students are eligible to transition to campus to complete their degree.”

BTW, @TheOriginalCane - I should have added that I do think that the blame does fall on Billy and UF, as we’ve all talked about ad nauseam on here. I don’t know if I would accuse DJ as “collaborating” about his injuries so much as just doing what he was told to do, but in the end the result was the same. And I’ve stated many times that I feel bad for the kid. He got a raw deal, and being loyal to UF was his downfall.

This article reads like a PR puff piece, however. But what do you expect from USA Today?

Hey now, according to the Gators, that's an unproven and baseless accusation! Title IX scandals just don't happen under Stricklin, okay?!?

For realz though, anyone who watched that last Vandy game knew they weren't lasting long in the tourney. They shouldn't have even been a one-seed. But now they're wasting money to give Golden an extension so he doesn't go to UNC. Hilarious.
Prison Cornrow Mike Norvell and Alabama have entered the chat!

i think lagway is cooked ... second coming of dju

That's whom I compared him to before last season started. Now that he's no longer a Gator, I'm hoping he outperforms the lowered expectations. Would be another slap in the face to Florida. He looks to be in a little better shape at least, though still carrying bad weight.
